    Abstract: The alternator comprises a stator (12), a rotor (4) disposed inside the stator (12) and having a plurality of phases, and at least two armature windings, each of which is part of a power supply source connected between earth and a power supply line, each source also comprising a bridge of rectifying elements and an auxiliary bridge of rectifying elements, characterised in that the auxiliary bridges of rectifying elements are arranged centrally with respect to the bridges of rectifying elements of the two sources, and in that the said bridges are carried by a support which is fixed with respect to the rear bearing of the alternator.
