Abstract: The invention concerns low molecular weight copolymers of acrylic acid or at least partially salified acrylic acid and acrylamide, their process of manufacture and their use. These copolymers may be used to prevent the formation of deposits on the walls of oil or geothermal equipment from aqueous systems containing dissolved salts. The copolymer is characterized in that it comprises recurrent units deriving from acrylic acid and acrylamide in a proportion by weight from 95:5 to 25:75. Furthermore, the distribution of the molecular weights of the copolymer, as determined by exclusion analytic chromatography, is such that at least 60% of the weight molecular weights are lower than 500.

Abstract: A latex composition sensitive to heat, particularly for use as a binder for nonwoven fabrics, comprises 0.05 to 5 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of a latex (as the dry solids) of a urethane-oxyalkylene copolymer having the formula ##STR1## IN WHICH R represents an aliphatic group and/or an aromatic group which can contain a biuret group, a urethane group or isocyanate groups, R' is hydrogen or a lower alkyl radical having 1 to 8 carbon atoms (straight or branch chain), an aryl radical or an alkylaryl radical, x is 0 or 1, y is always greater than 2 and x+y is also always greater than 2; n has a value ranging between 2 and 4 inclusive while p has a value at least equal to 5.

Abstract: New copolymers obtained by interpolymerization of alkylacrylate (25 to 85 %), methacrylic acid (15 to 75 %), trialkyloxyvinylsilane (0.1 to 2 %) and monomer acting as reticulating agent, for example: divinylbenzene, alkyl compound, etc. (0.01 to 0.5 %). The above indicated percentages are in weight of the total monomer mixture.These copolymers are used, in form of emulsions, as thickening agents for aqueous systems of polymers, for example of acrylic copolymers.
