  • Patent number: 11485505
Abstract: An aircraft (10) is described as including a reference axis extending along at least a portion of the aircraft, and a propulsion system having a thrust vector feature (43) defining generally a direction of thrust of the turbofan engine (18), the thrust vector feature (43) extending relative to a thrust vector axis, where the turbofan engine (18) is disposed on the aircraft with the thrust vector feature (43) oriented with respect to the reference axis of the aircraft.

  • Publication number: 20220282672
Abstract: A fire protection structure to be affixed to a substrate adapted to be exposed to a heat source, has: an expandable layer containing an intumescent material expandable when exposed to the heat source, the expandable layer expandable, when exposed to a temperature above a temperature threshold generated by the heat source, from a first thickness to a second thickness greater than the first thickness; and a compliant textile structure retaining the expandable layer, at least a portion of the expandable layer disposed relative to the compliant textile structure such that the portion of the expandable layer is disposed between the substrate and the compliant textile structure when the fire protection structure is attached to the substrate, the compliant textile structure deformable with expansion of the expandable layer from the first thickness to the second thickness.

  • Patent number: 8004170
Abstract: A low pressure fluorescent tanning lamp (10) includes an elongated, tubular glass envelope (12) including an arc generating and sustaining medium (14) and electrodes (16) therewithin and having a first section (18) and a second section (20). A phosphor coating (22) is provided on the interior of the first section (18) and only a portion (24) of the second section (20). The phosphor coating comprises materials emitting in the UVA and UVB areas of the electromagnetic spectrum and additionally in the visible area of the electromagnetic spectrum in the range above 600 nm. The second section (20) includes a clear window (26) and the phosphor comprises a mixture comprising about 91% BaSi2O5:Pb; about 6% MgSrAl10O17:Ce; and about 3% Y2O3:Eu.

  • Patent number: 7486025
Abstract: A lamp having a measurable ultra violet light emission and having thereon a first marking revealing at least the operating characteristics of said lamp and a second marking evidencing a change in characteristics in response to exposure to ultra violet emissions. In a preferred embodiment of the invention a symbol or other indicia is provided on the lamp as the second marking that fades in accordance with the number of hours the lamp is operating, thus providing an indication of the UV output of the lamp.
