Patent number: 9132039Abstract: A disposable, absorbent “moisture management” drain pad for use on IV sites, tracheotomy tube sites, chest tube sites, catheter sites, g-tube sites, and drain sites. The pads will protect drain sites/skin area around drain sites from exudates/drainage by absorbing large amounts of fluid and locking it into a super absorbent core that remains dry on the outer surface next to the skin/drain site. The drain pad will contain an ultra-thin core containing super absorbent polymer and two layers of tissue substrates, a water impervious hydrophobic non-woven back sheet and a water pervious (hydrophilic) non-woven top sheet. Various materials can be substituted for these listed as long as they perform the required criteria need for the material.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2013Date of Patent: September 15, 2015Assignee: Principle Business Enterprises, Inc.Inventors: Alan A. Publication number: 20150252669Abstract: An apparatus may include a tubular, a first isolator connected to the tubular and configured to engage an interior surface of the wellbore, a first pressure gauge connected to the tubular and configured to take multiple pressure readings over a period of time, and a first perforation gun connected to the tubular without compromising the communication of fluid through an inner flow channel of the tubular. A method may include placing the apparatus in a wellbore, and actuating the isolator to provide isolation of a first zone in a formation. The method may include activating the perforation gun to provide fluid communication between an annulus of the wellbore and the zone in the formation. The method may include allowing the pressure gauge to take a plurality of pressure readings over a period of time. Based on the pressure readings, the method may include determining a formation characteristic.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 4, 2015Publication date: September 10, 2015Inventors: Phillip Scott FAIR, Robert James DOMBROWSKI, Ernesto Rafael FONSECA OCAMPOS, Alan Clifford REYNOLDS, Darren HUYNH, Lang ZHAN, David Lindsay Alexander LANGILLE, Wayne L. Patent number: 8640088Abstract: Software reuse utilizing naive group annotation of incomplete software descriptions. A software code is decimated whereby the software code's attributes, such as variable, class and method names are obfuscated into non-informative forms. The decimated software code is then presented to two or more participants that include at least one naive and one informed participant. The naive participant(s) poses a predetermined number of question(s) to and receive answer(s) from the informed participant(s). After receiving the answer(s) posed to the informed participant(s), the naive participant(s) proceeds to guess the function of the presented decimated software code. The annotations, i.e., questions and answers, to the decimated software code under review are collected and stored in a database.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2010Date of Patent: January 28, 2014Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Rick Allen Hamilton, II, James Robert Kozloski, Brian Marshall O'Connell, Alan Clifford Pickover, Keith Raymond Walker

Publication number: 20120296293Abstract: A disposable, absorbent type-style diaper for bariatric incontinent users includes a non-woven top sheet, an absorbent core containing fluff and super absorbent polymer, a fluid-impervious backsheet (microporous) that covers at minimal the absorbent core at it's widest point, a non-woven backsheet layer that is glued to the fluid-impervious backsheet and the overlaying non-woven top sheet. The diaper will also contain standing leg-cuffs and elastomeric side panels (air-permeable). The design of the diaper is such that the rise of the diaper is significantly longer than normal diapers. This feature allows the diaper to fit bariatric wearers higher in the front belly area and maintains acceptable coverage on the backside. The non-woven top sheet and the non-woven backsheet are coated with an antimicrobial/anti-fungal compound that inhibits bacterial/fungi to grow on the surfaces of the diaper.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2011Publication date: November 22, 2012Inventors: Alan A. Patent number: 7942294Abstract: The side-mounted, biomechanically designed lifting device maximizes the lifting capability of human anatomy. A harness with a shoulder pad crosses the user's body diagonally. The load is supported by an adjustable load strap at the user's side from a support ring attached to the harness. One end of the support strap is attached to the harness and the other to a lifting handle. With this device and method heavy and awkward loads like plywood and drywall may be carried and manipulated easily. The side-mounted lifting harness causes the user to lean away from the load. This transfers the weight of a load to a point near the ground, below the vertical center of gravity of the user and between the lifter's feet. There is significant biomechanical advantage to this load configuration. One person can carry heavy, awkward loads safely and quickly with a minimum of physical stress.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2008Date of Patent: May 17, 2011Inventors: Alan Clifford Burton, John Joseph Cunningham

Publication number: 20040031755Abstract: The present invention is a method of extracting the oxygen-containing flavor and fragrance compounds from oils obtained from natural products. Extraction is accomplished by the use of cold water typically below 100° C., but more typically below 50° C., to produce a weak aqueous solution. The oxygen-containing compounds are then concentrated by adsorption on to an appropriate solid material and then washed off by an organic solvent, such as ethanol. The resulting product is a solution in the organic solvent.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 13, 2002Publication date: February 19, 2004Inventors: Anthony Alan Clifford, Harold John Vandenburg
