  • Publication number: 20230111543
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for multidimensional parts average testing for testing devices and analyzing testing results to detect outliers according to embodiments of the present invention. The testing can include calculating multivariate (e.g., bivariate) statistics using delta measurements of like devices, a ratio of measurements, or principal component analysis that identifies eigenvectors and eigenvalues to define meta parameters, for example. Raw test result data can be converted to residual space and robust regression can be performed to prevent outlier results from influencing regression, thereby reducing overkill advantageously.

  • Patent number: 10072744
Abstract: A rotary actuation mechanism comprising an actuator having a body, and a slider movable on a linear path relative to the body. A first linkage can be pivotally coupled to the body at a first pivot having a first axis. A second linkage can be pivotally coupled to the slider at a second pivot having a second axis, and pivotally coupled to the first linkage at a third pivot. A length of the first linkage between the first pivot and the third pivot can be equal to a length of the second linkage between the second pivot and the third pivot. The slider can be movable to position the second axis in a collinear relationship with the first axis. The rotary actuation mechanism can include an anti-singularity device to constrain movement of the body when the first axis and the second axis are in the collinear relationship.

  • Patent number: 8968370
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide methods, apparatuses, and systems for fixing dens fractures. The mode of failure for screw fixation of C2 dens fractures is often via cut-out at the anterior body. In an embodiment, securing a plate, such as a locking plate, to the anterior surface of the vertebra attached directly to an interfragmentary screw may reduce potential for anterior screw cut-out and improve construct strength. Plate supplementation of anterior screw fixation of Type II dens fractures thus improves construct strength and changes the failure mechanism from anterior screw cut-out to posterior displacement of the screw, thus improving clinical outcomes for these fractures.

  • Patent number: 8920073
Abstract: An apparatus comprises at least one cutting jet configured to inject a fluid into a first layer of soil below a surface layer of underwater soil in a first region. At least one soil extractor is configured to remove at least a portion of the injected fluid and a portion of the first layer of soil in the first region. A mixing manifold is provided for mixing the removed portion of the injected fluid and the removed portion of the first layer of soil. A discharge is provided for depositing the mixed fluid and soil over the surface layer of underwater soil.

  • Patent number: 8911174
Abstract: A watercraft lift with hydraulically actuated arms which self-installs a fitted three-dimensional boat or other watercraft cover on a powerboat or other watercraft. Control logic allows for cover operation only when the lift is raised, and has a single control for both the lift and cover system. A spring-tensioned roller keeps the cover tight and self-rolls the cover on the roller when the actuated arms are pivoted forward. The roller is hidden behind the watercraft when in a “cover-on” position.

  • Patent number: 8320235
Abstract: A self-repair system provides resource failure tolerance using an interconnection network that provides interconnection information identifying connections between system resources, redundant resources and ports that are connectable to consumers of the system resources. A controller identifies both defective system resources and the affected sinks connected to the defective system resources from the interconnection network. The controller further identifies compatible resources from the system resources and redundant resources that are capable of replacing the defective system resources for each of the affected sinks from the interconnection network. The controller determines a respective cost associated with each of the compatible resources, and in response to the determined costs, selects at least one of the compatible resources as a replacement resource for each of the defective system resources.
