Abstract: A vehicle suspension system includes a wishbone-shaped linkage having a base, with two limbs extending from the base. Each limb is configured to support a laterally and longitudinally oriented bushing assembly, which may include a bushing assembly received by a laterally and longitudinally oriented mounting tube associated with a free end of the limb. The base includes upper and lower plates wrapping only partially around a laterally extending cross tube. A modular bushing assembly including a pair of bushing lobes and a bar pin is partially received within the cross tube, with the bushing lobes being adjustably positioned on the bar pin to allow for adjustment of the conical rate of the bushing assembly. A mounting assembly includes a pair of mount blocks secured to a vehicle axle, with the bar pin being secured with respect to the axle via the mount blocks, thereby associating the linkage to the axle.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that facilitates displaying automatically recognized text, wherein the automatically recognized text includes optical character recognition (OCR) text or intelligent character recognition (ICR) text. During operation, the system receives a source image containing text from a user. Next, the system performs a character-recognition operation on the source image to produce recognized text. The system then locates a data field within the source image. Next, the system identifies a subset of the recognized text that corresponds with the data field. After that, the system displays the source image to the user. At the same time, the system displays the subset of the recognized text in close proximity to the data field in the source image to facilitate comparing the recognized text with the text contained in the source image.

Abstract: Valve stem and valve plug apparatus for use with fluid regulators are described herein. An example fluid regulator includes a flow control member having a body that includes a longitudinal bore between a first end and a second end and a valve stem is disposed in the bore of the flow control member. A connector slidably couples the valve stem and the flow control member such that the connector moves away from the flow control member to relieve the flow control member of a loading force imparted by a loading element of the fluid regulator when the flow control member sealingly engages a valve seat of the fluid regulator.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that facilitates automated accounting. During operation, the system receives a check voucher at a system, wherein the check voucher corresponds to a check. Next, the system performs an optical character recognition (OCR) operation on the check voucher to identify a set of tokens printed on the check voucher. The system then searches a dictionary of tokens for open invoices to identify a match between the set of tokens printed on the check voucher and tokens associated with an open invoice. Next, the system determines an amount of the check by determining the value of an amount token printed on the check voucher. Finally, the system applies a payment for the amount of the check to the open invoice.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for facilitating a financial transaction. During operation, the system receives a request for a financial transaction from a merchant, wherein the financial transaction involves a payment to the merchant. Next, the system obtains a unique transaction identifier for the financial transaction. The system then associates the unique transaction identifier with the request to facilitate reconciliation of the financial transaction. Finally, the system forwards the request along with the unique transaction identifier to one or more financial institutions for subsequent processing of the financial transaction, which can involve reconciliation and/or settlement of the financial transaction.

A reconciliation facilitator assigns unique transaction IDs to credit card transactions submitted by the merchant. When a set of transactions is settled, their unique IDs are received as part of the settlement data, and the reconciliation facilitator can identify the settled transactions to the merchant (e.g., through his accounting or point-of-sale software).

Abstract: A control valve system is disclosed which provides a mechanism by which the valve can be moved to its fail-safe position. The system includes a valve actuator which receives pressurized fluid from a regulator. The regulator is provided with a reverse pressure exhaust valve such that if pressure within the valve actuator is to be alleviated, as when the valve is to be positioned into its fail-safe position, the reverse pressure exhaust valve is opened thereby providing an immediate and accurate passageway through which excess pressure within the regulator outlet can be alleviated.
