The sports training apparatus has the ability to launch a sports ball, such as, for example, a soccer ball or a volleyball, at various power levels, at many different angles, with many different types of spin, and can be remotely controlled or programmed with a pre-determined launching pattern. The ball projecting mechanism launches a sports ball by way of a striking leg member which is powered by a compressible spring and detent rod assembly.

Abstract: A method and system of transferring messages from a message source to a mobile station in a cellular system comprises assigning to each message a priority characteristic before the message is transmitted to mobile station. The message is then transmitted together with the assigned priority characteristic, depending on the priority characteristic. The priority characteristic is examined at the mobile station and the message is processed at the mobile station depending on the priority characteristic.

Abstract: There is provided a phase locked loop, PLL, that sets gain automatically. The PLL comprises a frequency discriminator for providing a first signal that represents the difference between a first frequency and a second frequency. The PLL also comprises a comparator coupled to the frequency discriminator for receiving the first signal and providing a second signal based on information from the first signal. The second signal is representative of a gain setting for the phase locked loop to set.

Abstract: A method and network access point selection logic are described for a redundantly connected industrial LAN node including at least primary and backup network access points. Network connectivity is determined by a redundantly connected node by testing connectivity between the node's primary and backup physical network access points. Upon detecting a loss of connectivity between the redundant node's primary and backup network access points, the node executes access point selection logic, based upon tests of connectivity between the redundantly connected (primary and backup) network access points and a set of nodes on the LAN, to select a preferred/primary one of the redundant access points. Thereafter, the redundantly connected node binds its connections according to primary and backup designations for its redundant network access points.

Abstract: An artificial fishing lure has an integral elongate, asymmetrical body of soft, resilient material which has ellipsoidal cuts on opposing sides of the body to create living hinges between segments of the body. Use of a plurality of hinges in conjunction with spoilers on alternating segments allows independent movement of different segments of the lure. Spoilers on alternating body segments combined with the living hinges creates a serpentine movement of the lure when drawn through water. The lure acts as a lossy fiber optic when made of a transparent or translucent material, so that light entering the lure exits at the hinges and the tail to act as a fish attractant.

A funnel connects the neck of the envelope with the faceplate. A deflection yoke is disposed around the envelope at the junction of the neck and the funnel.
