  • Publication number: 20220260432
Abstract: A non-invasive measuring device calculates a temperature of a medium in a container or conduit. The device includes at least one first sensor disposed on an exterior surface of the container or conduit and measures a temperature (To) of the exterior surface. The measuring device also includes at least one second sensor disposed on the exterior surface and measures a heat flux (q?) moving through a wall of the container or conduit. The measuring device further includes a processor operatively coupled to the first sensor and the second sensor. The processor is configured to receive the temperature (To) measurements and the heat flux (q?) measurements from the first sensor and the second sensor and to calculate a temperature of the medium in the container or conduit based on input variables about the container or conduit including radius, thickness and thermal conductivity of the material of the container or conduit.

  • Publication number: 20170124650
Abstract: A system is disclosed for data organization and display that incorporates multiple dimensions of data object characteristics to logically and associatively align such data and data elements in a multi-dimensional layout. The layout may include interactive micro and macro behaviors of participants in a forensic quality visual story board representation of events that is easily accessed and understood, and that can be acted upon in both real-time and in a historically informed fashion.

  • Publication number: 20110307548
Abstract: A data distribution system is presented. A remote server, such as a Hub Server is connected to a local distribution sub-system including a local server, such as a Head End Server. Data is transmitted from a component of the local distribution sub-system, such as a Local Control Unit to the local server and the data is transmitted from the local server to the remote server.

  • Publication number: 20110239258
Abstract: A system for distributing television/video signals to different locations comprises a server capable of providing digital television/video signals for a plurality of programmes, a plurality of receivers each at a respective one of said locations, and a network connecting the server to the receivers, each receiver being operable to select a required one of the programmes and to communicate the selection to the server, the server being responsive to such a selection to transmit the digital television/video signal for the selected programme over the network addressed to the receiver that selected that programme, and each receiver being responsive to the digital television/video signal that is addressed to that receiver so that point-to-point communication is established from the server to that receiver.

  • Publication number: 20090068613
Abstract: A portable color corrected light for the correct matching of tooth shades and acceleration of tooth whitening has been developed. In order to accurately match the tint and hue (true color) of teeth, the device provides 5500 to 6500 Kelvin, ambient-independent light with the ability to block or overwhelm ambient light to get a precise “color” reading of that tooth. The same light can accelerate the tooth whitening process with the addition of photo-accelerators to increase the decomposition of H2O2 or other peroxide whitening material. In addition, the same light can also serve as a dental operatory light which provides a closer to daylight illumination than conventional halogen dental lights.

  • Patent number: 7332347
Abstract: An apparatus for concentrating and collecting one or more analytes in a flowing liquid stream of a carrier solvent composed of one or more solvent components is provided, which includes a transfer tube which forms a bore having an inlet and an outlet, the inlet being adapted to accept the flowing liquid stream, and the outlet being adapted to form continuously replaced, hanging droplets of the liquid stream, and a collection device mounted below the outlet of the transfer tube for collecting the droplets. The apparatus includes a device for heating the liquid stream in the transfer tube to a temperature sufficient to cause partial evaporation of the carrier solvent from the hanging droplets but not exceeding the boiling point of the carrier solvent, and a device for heating the collection device to a temperature sufficient to cause further evaporation of the carrier solvent from the collected droplets.

  • Patent number: 6102696
Abstract: A self contained light source for curing light initiated resins used to coat teeth as veneers and fill cavities and chips in teeth in aesthetic or restorative procedures. The source includes an elongated container holding a battery and electronic compartment at one end and a light emitting window at the other. A plurality of closely space light emitters, typically light emitting diodes or laser diodes, are arrayed to direct light to a common focal point. The light is directed out of the container toward a tooth bearing the resin to be cured to a hard, stable state. The light emitters produce light in a region of the spectrum to which the resin curing initiators is sensitive, typically blue light. The light emitters are preferably mounted on concave edged printed circuit so that they are all oriented inwardly toward the focal point. Microlenses may be used with each light emitter to further concentrate light toward the focal point.
