Publication number: 20230266723Abstract: The disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods for determining preferred battery capacities. In an example method, a first set of data associated with scooter usage in a geographic area may be received. A first number of battery packs and a second number of battery packs for servicing the geographic area may be determined based at least on the first set of data, where the first number of battery packs has a first power capacity and the second number of battery packs has a second power capacity. A first cost associated with the first number of battery packs and a second cost associated with the second number of battery packs may be determined via a simulation model. The first cost may be determined to be lower than the second cost, and the first number of battery packs having the first power capacity may be selected to service the geographic area.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2022Publication date: August 24, 2023Applicant: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Raj Sohmshetty, Vikas Rajendra, Sam Hoff, James Berg, Alan Beltran

Patent number: 10473935Abstract: A system to provide views of virtual content in an interactive space, e.g., an augmented reality environment, may comprise one or more of a light source, directional control device, variable power lens, beam steering device, optical element, and/or one or more physical processors. A light source may generate collimated light rays in accordance with virtual content to be perceived within a three-dimensional light field. A directional control device may controllable adjust direction of travel of collimated light rays toward a beam steering device. A variable power lens may be positioned to receive collimated light rays between a light source and a directional control device. A beam steering device may be configured to direct collimated light rays to locations on an optical element. An optical element may be configured to reflect collimated light rays in a focal plane of a perceived three-dimensional light field.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2017Date of Patent: November 12, 2019Assignee: Meta View, Inc.Inventors: Meron Gribetz, Ashish Ahuja, Raymond Chun Hing Lo, Alan Beltran, Shengtong Chen, Run Huang, Ting Heng Hsieh, Steven Merlin Worden, Zhangyi Zhong

Patent number: 9918020Abstract: A user portable device includes a device chassis comprising at least one opening at a surface of the device chassis and a sensor assembly aligned with the at least one opening. The sensor assembly includes a mounting structure and a plurality of sensors mounted to the mounting structure. The sensors include at least two sensors utilized by the user portable device based on a specified geometric configuration between the at least two sensors. The user portable device further includes a mounting fastener that mounts the sensor assembly to the device chassis so as to isolate the sensor assembly from deformation of the surface of the device chassis along one or more axes during user handling, and thus aid in preventing alteration of a baseline geometric configuration of one or more sensors of the sensor assembly due to the chassis deformation.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2015Date of Patent: March 13, 2018Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Renzo De Nardi, Johnny Lee, Alan Beltran, Ashish Shah

Publication number: 20140115390Abstract: A storage area network (SAN) is provided with redundancy and recovery mechanism. A primary storage switch performs dynamic address translation between logical storage addresses received from host devices and physical addresses of SAN storage arrays. When power failure in the primary storage switch is detected, metadata associated with the dynamic address translation operation is sent to a secondary storage switch via a network connection to provide the dynamic address translation in lieu of the primary storage switch. A storage array experiencing power failure similarly sends cached data to another storage array via a network connection so that the other storage array can substitute the failed storage array. During the power failure, a data backup module in the primary storage switch or the storage array is powered by a temporary power source.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2013Publication date: April 24, 2014Applicant: Coraid, Inc.Inventors: Brantley Coile, Alan Beltran, Robert Przykuki
