  • Patent number: 10427814
Abstract: A wire tie assembly and method of tying a wire using the wire tie assembly is provided. Embodiments of the wire tie assembly comprise a gear-train having a main-drive gear continuously driven by a motor, an idler gear having a first and second dwell portions, the idler gear being configured to mesh with the main-drive gear during a portion of the wire-tying cycle and to dwell relative to the main-drive gear during a portion of the wire-tying cycle, and a twister pinion gear having a wire receiving channel and configured to be in mesh with the idler gear during a portion of the wire tying cycle and to dwell relative to the idler gear during a portion of the wire tying cycle. Some embodiments include cam pins coupled to the idler gear and cam followers that engage the cam pins to actuate secondary functions of the wire tying cycle.

  • Publication number: 20070193243
Abstract: A harvesting header having a flexible cutterbar assembly utilizes draper belts behind the cutterbar assembly to gently consolidate the severed crop materials and deliver them to a point of discharge and delivery, such as to the feederhouse of a combine harvester. One embodiment has draper assemblies and a central conveyor fixed relative to the flexible cutterbar assembly, while another has the draper assemblies and central conveyer flexible with the cutterbar assembly.

  • Patent number: 5733094
Abstract: A cart for storing and transporting granular material comprises a storage bin having sidewalls which converge inwardly and downwardly to a trough and a sump. The trough extends across a portion of the bottom of the storage bin and opens into the sump which extends at least partially below the trough. A drag auger is rotatably secured in the trough. An unloading auger assembly is secured to the storage bin and extends from the sump, upward along the front left corner of the bin and therebeyond. A lower portion of an auger of the auger assembly extends into the sump. Grain stored in the bin flows by gravity into the sump where it is advanced out of the bin by the unloading auger assembly. The drag auger may be independently engaged to advance grain to the sump which would not otherwise advance to the sump by gravity feed alone.

  • Patent number: 5538388
Abstract: A grain cart is equipped with a lower and an upper discharge chute. Within each chute, a discharge auger is positioned to move grain or other particulate agricultural products up the chute. The cart includes a bin with four sides, each of which slopes toward the bottom center of the bin. An intake opening for the lower chute is positioned in the bottom center of the bin. The lower discharge chute extends from the bottom center of the bin and upward at an angle to a first discharge opening where grain is discharged from the lower chute into a sleeve which extends downward at an angle and which connects with an intake opening of the upper chute. The upper chute is rotatable about the sleeve and extends outward therefrom to a second discharge opening.

  • Patent number: 5340042
Abstract: A horizontally oriented three sided frame is adapted to hold a round hay bale. An endless chain driven conveyor in the floor of the frame causes the round bale to rotate about a longitudinal axis while simultaneously urging a portion of the perimeter of the bale against a sickle bar cutter arrayed just above the floor on one side of the frame. The cutter chops the hay bale into manageable portions for feeding to livestock. The sickle bar cutter includes a conventional reciprocating cutter bar with triangularly shaped cutting teeth arranged continuously along the bar. A specially designed blade guide allows the entire cutting surfaces of the teeth to extend past the blade guide as they reciprocate. This insures that the hay bale is fed rapidly into the reciprocating teeth since no blade guide teeth enter the cutting gaps between the cutting teeth as they reciprocate and thus do not interfere with the advancement of the hay bale into cutter.
