  • Patent number: 10244806
Abstract: An interlocking magnetic snap fastener of simplified construction for use with garments is provided. The magnet fastener includes two mating magnetically attracting elements of minimal thickness. The first element includes a central opening having a magnet or ferromagnetic disk recessed in the opening, creating recess for engagement with an opposing magnet protruding from the second element. Engagement through the recess prevents lateral movement between, and disengagement of, the first and second elements. The fastener is constructed such that, when placed in close proximity to the recess of the first element, the magnet in the second element is induced to slide sideways, enter the recess of the first element, and assume automatically-aligned contact with its magnetic counterpart.

  • Publication number: 20160206028
Abstract: An interlocking magnetic snap fastener of simplified construction for use with garments is provided. The magnet fastener comprises two mating, magnetically attracted elements of minimal thickness. A central recess in a first element (6) containing a magnet or ferromagnetic disk provides entry and engagement for an opposing magnet protruding from a. second element (8). When the second element is placed in close proximity to the recess, a magnetic force field is generated between magnets, or alternatively, between the ferromagnetic disk of the first element and the protruding magnet of the second element and the magnet in the second element is induced to slide sideways, enter the recess of the first element and assume automatically-aligned contact with its counterpart Engagement within the recess prevents lateral movement between, and disengagement of the first and second elements.

  • Patent number: 6209261
Abstract: A wooden planter box (1) using thin fiber-reinforced cement sheet as interior panels (24, 26) which are intended to contain solid nutrients such as soil and fertilizer. This constitutes a new and totally different application for fiber-reinforced cement sheet. The panels themselves form a receptacle in such a way as to protect the supporting wooden structure which encloses them from contact with the solid nutrients contained by the planter box while absorbing water and enabling the transmission of oxygen to the roots of the plant.

  • Patent number: 6018910
Abstract: A knockdown planter box frame composed of two basic components in the form of frames and posts which may be easily releasably joined together. The frame is intended to secure non-wooden internal panels which contain solid nutrients such as soil and fertilizer. The wooden framework receives protection from direct contact with decay-causing micro-organisms in the growing medium. Panels are removable in such a way as to facilitate pruning a rootball without removal of the plant.
