Abstract: A method of verifying an identity of a wireless device. The method comprising receiving a calling station identity from a SIM of a wireless device, receiving a secure identifier derived by a secure element of the wireless device, comparing the received calling station identity to calling station identities of authorized wireless devices to identify obtain a corresponding wireless device identity, confirming whether the secure identifier is authentic and determining a second wireless device identity from the secure identifier, and comparing the first wireless device identity and the second wireless device identity to verify the identity of the wireless device.

Abstract: A method of provisioning a device to use a data service provided by a data service provider comprises maintaining a list of unique identifiers of devices to which a trusted certificate has been issued and receiving a data service request for a device. The request will include a unique identifier for the device and a certificate. In response to the data service request, the list of device unique identifiers is consulted in order to verify that the certificate contained in the data service request is a trusted certificate. If the certificate contained in the service request is a trusted certificate, the certificate may then be forwarded to the data service provider.

Abstract: A method of carrying out a data transfer comprising: providing a device having an Embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card ‘e UICC’ enabled SIM with a first profile; providing a second profile, different from the first profile; installing the second profile on the SIM; using the second profile to carry out a data transfer; providing a third profile, different from the second profile; and installing the third profile on the SIM.
