  • Publication number: 20190095012
Abstract: A mobile computing device for fleet telematics including a display and a controller configured to present at least one telematics application to a user. In an embodiment, the application is a verified inspection application, and the device includes an RF coil for an RFID reader that extends along a perimeter of the device. In a related embodiment, the device includes an indicator light disposed along a perimeter, generally adjacent to the RF coil, the indicator light providing a user an indication of how to orient the device in order to enable the RF coil to interact with an RFID tag. The device can be configured so the indicator light is only enabled when the inspection application is running. The device can include a flashlight and/or a digital camera, where the device is similarly programmed such that the flashlight and/or camera can only be enabled when the inspection application is running.

  • Patent number: 10185455
Abstract: A mobile computing device for fleet telematics including a display and a controller configured to present at least one telematics application to a user. In an exemplary embodiment, the application is a verified inspection application, and the device includes an RF coil for an RFID reader that substantially extends along a perimeter of a housing for the device. In a related embodiment, the device includes an indicator light disposed along a perimeter edge of the housing, generally adjacent to the RF coil, the indicator light providing a user an indication of how to orient the device in order to enable the RF coil to interact with an RFID tag. The device can be configured such that the indicator light is only enabled when the inspection application is running. The device can include a flashlight and/or a digital camera, where the device is similarly programmed such that the flashlight and/or camera can only be enabled when the inspection application is running.

  • Patent number: 7155526
Abstract: A method and system are provided for integrating a WLAN radio access network into a GSM/GPRS core network wherein gateways are added that transparently transport services between the two networks. A further aspect of the invention is secure authentication. The system has two network elements: a Radio Link Manager (RLM) and a Radio Access Controller (RAC), and a software application, a Multi-Link Client (MLC) to control the functionality of the integration and the authentication. The MLC resides on a user device. The RAC provides protocol stacks and interworking functions to allow the MLC to talk to a Home Location Register (HLR). The RLM and MLC set up a “tunnel” employing, for example, PPP over Ethernet (PPPOE), and all of the data packets received on this tunnel are forwarded by the RLM to the Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN over a further tunnel using the GPRS Tunneling Protocol (GTP).

  • Patent number: 4454677
Abstract: A housing is disclosed for an insect killing assembly of the type having an elongated light source protruding downwardly from a mounting shelf. The light source is surrounded by an electrically conductive grid supported by legs depending from the lower surface of said shelf. The light source and the grid are energized by an A.C. source via circuit components including a voltage augmenting transformer carried on the top surface of the shelf. The housing includes an open-ended enclosure surrounding the insect killing assembly. The enclosure is defined by a pair of separable half-sections which are each provided with an array of holes through which insects may pass as they are attracted by the light source onto the energized grid. A removable base closes the lower end of the enclosure. A one-piece water impervious cover is detachably mounted to the upper end of the enclosure. The cover cooperates with the half sections and the mounting shelf to isolate the circuit components from external moisture.
