  • Patent number: 11677642
Abstract: An automated support system for local networks of connected devices has local network agents each comprising a digital processor, a memory, a local communications wireless interface for communicating locally with devices in the local network, and remotely with cloud-based servers. The servers include an interface for communicating with the local networks, and a recommendation engine programmed to dynamically communicate with the local network agents via the interface to capture support requests concerning devices and services, to perform work flow processing to generate a resolution for such support requests, and to communicate the resolution to the local network agent. The recommendation engine automatically generates a context for each support request, the context including historical resolution data for that local network, or device, or service.

  • Patent number: 10439919
Abstract: A system (1) has propensity models (4), and a controller (5) for automatically supplying key event data for user interactions with a network. The key event data is distributed asynchronously around a network to the model systems (4). The model systems (4) use the key event data and user data from subscriber systems to generate subscriber analysis outputs such as propensity to take one of a set of pre-configured actions. The probed data includes usage, charging, and purchase history data. The models are weighted sub-models, in which weights are based on user segment.

  • Patent number: 10192238
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, in real-time, user information associated with a user of a client computing device. One or more user features are derived from the user information associated with the user. The one or more user features include one or more user intents. The one or more user intents are matched with one or more of a plurality of advertiser intents. The user information is determined to be accepted. In response to accepting the user information, an advertisement is generated based on the matching of the one or more user intents and the one or more of the plurality of advertiser intents.

  • Patent number: 10121071
Abstract: A verification system (1) receives batches of documents in excess of 500,000 for external document generation systems. It verifies each document without affecting the core document-generation operations of the source document generation systems, and moreover enriches the documents by adding content such as recipient messages. It normalizes each document into an instance in a mark-up language, one instance per document. In the normalized format, the system performs verification checks including semantic checking across data items in groups. The servers (10, 11) are configured as multi-threaded platforms that process the document instances in parallel, typically validating the instance documents, pattern matching for relevant facts or events and implementing business rules and output actions such as generation of a print stream. There are separate but interlinked verification (10, 11) and presentment (20, 21, 25) branches.

  • Patent number: 8365714
Abstract: A tile cutting machine includes a tub for receiving water and a tile supporting surface for supporting thereon a tile to be cut. A cutting head assembly is positioned above the tile supporting surface and includes a motor driven blade. A tile hold down mechanism extends downwardly from the cutting head assembly to engage the tile and apply downward pressure thereto to hold the tile in place during the cutting process. The tile hold down mechanism may take the form of flexible hold down feet, downwardly biased rollers and/or bristle skirts. The tile supporting surface may be fabricated of a high friction material and include a plurality of nubs to cooperate with the hold down mechanism to hold the tile stationary with respect to the supporting surface during the cutting process. • Patent number: 8079723
Abstract: An adjustable lens with a self-illuminating scale for use in photography, cinematography, or videography has a housing surface with scale markings and an opaque member with a reference marking mounted over and movable relative to the surface. The movement of the member normally adjusts a parameter of the lens. The scale markings are visible through a window in the member. The edge of the member adjacent the scale has an opening. A light source is situated within a recess in the member adjacent the opening. Light is directed from the light source through the edge opening in a direction along the surface of the surface such that the visible scale markings are illuminated, while light from the light source is otherwise substantially prevented from escaping from the lens. The activation and intensity of the light source is controlled by movement of the member or an external illumination controller.
