  • Publication number: 20050263456
Abstract: Disclosed herein are articles for removing contaminants from a fluid, such as a liquid or gas, the article comprising carbon nanotubes, which comprise at least one molecule or cluster attached thereto or located therein, wherein the carbon nanotubes are present in the article in an amount sufficient to reduce the concentration of contaminants in fluid that come into contact with the article. A method of making the nanomesh material used in such articles is also disclosed, as are methods of purifying fluids using these articles.

  • Publication number: 20050195194
Abstract: System and method for analyzing signals. Signal data corresponding to a signal is received, e.g., from a data acquisition device, and processed to generate formatted signal data, including segmenting the signal data based on the a period of the signal data to generate segments. The formatted signal data is displayed in a three dimensional (3D) eye diagram by plotting the segments in an overlaid manner, which is usable to analyze the signal. User input may be received specifying attributes of the 3D eye diagram, e.g., zoom, rotation, translation, stereoscopy, display device, plot colors and line styles, point colors and styles, symbol rate, eye length, number of segments to display, projections, e.g., for generating I- or Q-eye diagrams or constellation diagrams, auxiliary information display, e.g., highlight points for symbol timing and/or additional points for ideal symbol locations, data sources, etc., and the 3D eye diagram displayed according to the specified attributes.

  • Patent number: 6640799
Abstract: An adjustable searing grate for a barbecue grill comprises a cooking surface and an outrigger device. The cooking surface comprises a plurality of searing wires arranged in a substantially parallel configuration and a longitudinal member disposed substantially perpendicularly to the plurality of searing wires. Each of the plurality of searing wires has a substantially oval cross-section. The longitudinal member supports the plurality of searing wires. The outrigger device is adapted to slidably engage the cooking surface. The outrigger device is slidably fixed along one of the plurality of searing wires and the longitudinal member in order to adjust a dimension of the adjustable searing grate.

  • Patent number: 6095989
Abstract: A plurality of methods of analysis of images of eyes of a subject taken by a reflex photometer are disclosed. In this methods, a computer coupled to the reflex photometer is programmed to locate the pupil of at at least one eye, crop an image array containing the pupil from the total image and perform analyses on the cropped array to determine whether conditions are present indicative of disease processes in the eye. In essence, parameters of the subject eye are developed, and these subject pararmeters are compared to the same parameters developed by a normal eye. In addition, indications of strabismus are examined by comparing the area of the white portion of the eye on one side of the iris with the white portion on the other side of the iris.
