    Abstract: A substantially non-aqueous liquid detergent product comprising a liquid surfactant phase and a solid phase dispersed therein, the liquid surfactant phase comprising an ethoxylated alcohol having an average of from 5 to 8 ethylene oxide (EO) groups per molecule, at least 60% having a number of ethylene oxide groups within .+-.2EO of the average and the alkyl chain distribution being such that less than 2% has a chain length of 9 or less carbon atoms, at least 90% has a chain length between 10 and 12 carbon atoms and less than 10% has a chain length of 13 or more carbon atoms, said percentages being by weight of the ethoxylated alcohol.
