  • Patent number: 6116697
Abstract: An articulated work machine includes an engine mounted in front of a load carrying receptacle on a trailer. The articulated work machine includes a cab assembly which has a front axle assembly on which number of front wheels are mounted, and a seat for supporting an operator of the work machine. The articulated work machine further includes a trailer assembly having a rear axle assembly on which a number of rear wheels are mounted. The articulated work machine still further includes a receptacle adapted to receive and carry loads. The receptacle is supported on the trailer assembly. The articulated work machine yet further includes a coupling which pivotally connects the cab assembly to the trailer assembly. The articulated work machine still further includes an engine assembly for propelling the work machine. The engine assembly is mounted on the trailer assembly. The assembly is interposed between the receptacle and the number of front wheels.

  • Patent number: 6062804
Abstract: A load carrying body has an ejector slidably disposed for movement between first and second end portions of the load carrying body. The load carrying body has a "v" shaped floor and the ejector has a "v" shaped bottom. The ejector has a first angled portion disposed at a preselected included first angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the load carrying body. The second end portion of the load carrying body has an angled end portion at substantially the same angle as the included first angle to facilitate complete ejection. A jack pulls the ejector between the first and second end portions.

  • Patent number: 6011950
Abstract: An apparatus and method using the forward error correction setting to enable simultaneous use of multiple modulation systems on terrestrial distribution networks including cable television systems is described. The system includes a transcoder having a demultiplexer for demultiplexing a forward-error-correction decoded signal into a main data stream with a bit rate suitable for 64-QAM cable transmission and an auxiliary data stream with a bit rate approximately half that of the main data stream. Two of such auxiliary data streams can be combined to generate an output data stream with a bit rate suitable for 64-QAM cable transmission. The system also includes a satellite transmitter which can adjust its convolution coding rate to either 1/2 or 3/4 for 64-QAM and 256-QAM cable channels respectively.

  • Patent number: 5997460
Abstract: In combination, an inline delivery vehicle for substantially improving performance of a first stage printing press delivery table, for substantially eliminating paper jamming, and for substantially increasing safety of operations. The first stage printing press delivery table has a plurality of driven rollers for increasing the advancing speed of a paper and an upwardly adjustable bracket structure extending above the plurality of driven rollers. The inline delivery vehicle comprises: a first vehicle side positioned perpendicular and proximate the plurality of driven rollers and a second vehicle side positioned perpendicular and proximate the plurality of driven rollers and adjacent the first vehicle side. The first vehicle side and the second vehicle side are removably connected to the upwardly adjustable bracket structure.

  • Patent number: 5816665
Abstract: A retarder system for a vehicular drive train is disclosed. The retarder system includes a compression brake being adapted to operate in multiple stages to slow the speed of the engine and a fluid retarder being adapted to operate in multiple stages to absorb power from the drive train. A controller regulates the operational stages of the compression brake and the fluid retarder so that the compression brake and the fluid retarder operate in combination to slow the speed of the vehicle.
