  • Patent number: 9433754
Abstract: A catheter clamp (1) comprising a base (2) and a pivotable cover (3), the cover arranged to be capable of adopting an open condition and a clamped condition, the clamp further comprising a resiliently biased displaceable latch (12) to releasably retain the cover in the clamped condition, wherein the latch displaceable on and relative to a support surface (11) which supports the latch, so as to release the cover from the clamped condition.

  • Patent number: 7749199
Abstract: A catheter clamp includes a body portion and clamp, the body portion comprising a first location portion which receives a catheter which issues from a patient's skin, a second location portion which causes the catheter to be bent through an arc and a third location portion which guides the catheter to an exit of the clamp, the third location portion comprising side walls which flank the catheter so as to form a close-fitting pathway, the arrangement of the clamp being such that in use the clamp is manually operable and can be caused to adopt a clamping condition in which the clamping portion clamps at least one of that portion of the catheter which is located by the third location portion and that portion of the catheter which is located by the second location portion. The inventive catheter clamp is advantageously of a lower profile than known catheter clamps.

  • Patent number: 6676652
Abstract: A catheter adapter comprises an adapter body, a medical device securing means for releasably securing and hermetically sealing the adapter body to a medical device, and catheter securing means for releasably securing and hermetically sealing the adapter body to a catheter of predetermined external diameter, the catheter securing means comprising first and second rigid elements provided with confronting surfaces, and an operating device adapted to urge the rigid elements towards one another, at least one of said confronting surfaces comprising longitudinal channel walls defining a channel, whereby the confronting surfaces combine together to define a close tolerance pathway when the elements are urged towards one another by the operating device, and an operating device retaining means for retaining the operating device in an operative position, the size of the said pathway being such that in use a length of a catheter enclosed within the pathway is compressed and held by engagement of said rigid elements with

  • Patent number: 5690616
Abstract: A catheter clamp comprises a base (1) for securing by adhesion to the skin, a hole (2) in the base for passage of a catheter tube (3), a curved tube support surface (14) for supporting the tube which is bent in use through about 90.degree., and an arm (6) pivoted at (8) between parallel upstanding side walls (4) on the base. The arm (6) has a curved portion (22) extending eccentrically of the pivot (8) which urges a tube portion (23) above the hole (2) into a vertical channel provided in a post (12), and grips the tube when the arm is pivoted to an operative clamping position. The arm is held by retention means (24, 25) in the clamping position. In another embodiment (FIGS. 8, 9) the manually operable clamping means is provided by a slider (50).
