  • Patent number: 7873824
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for remotely configuring a computer BIOS of a testing computer system are provided. In one aspect, a method of testing is provided that includes establishing an interface between a first computer system and a second computer system. The second computer system includes a computer readable storage device that has a BIOS and a first set of BIOS configuration settings. The first set of BIOS configuration settings is adapted to a first device under test. At least one instruction is sent from the first computer system to the second computer system to enable the second computer system to select a second set of BIOS configuration settings adapted to a second device under test having different electronic characteristics than the first device under test. An electrical test is performed on the second device under test using the second computer system and the second set of BIOS configuration settings.

  • Publication number: 20090049302
Abstract: A method and system for processing content are described including generating a dummy value, inserting the dummy value into encoded content, selecting a position in the encoded content where the dummy value in the encoded content is to be replaced by a real value, generating the real value and replacing the dummy value with the real value in the encoded content.

  • Patent number: 7287153
Abstract: A basic input/output system (BIOS) evaluates a plurality of performance state data that is stored in a disposable memory to determine if one of the plurality matches a set of processor criteria, which correspond to a processor of the computer system. Each of the plurality of performance state data corresponds to one or more processors. The BIOS selects the one of the plurality that matches the criteria to some degree (e.g., exactly, nearly, etc.) and stores it in BIOS runtime memory. If there are no matches, then the BIOS may select a default performance state table or dynamically generate a performance state table.

  • Patent number: 5889750
Abstract: A system for adjusting the spot size of an optical recording system includes a variable magnification lens assembly for adjusting the beam size while obtaining feedback of the actual beam size through an image device. The variable magnification lens assembly includes a beam expander with manual or motor-driven actuators for positioning a beam sizing lens while viewing an image of the spot. An acousto-optic modulator may be combined with the spot sizing function to reduce the number of lenses. The image device may include a charge coupled device camera connected to an image viewer or to a computer having image processing software. An operator may adjust the spot size while viewing an image of the spot, or the computer may control the beam size motors according to the measurement of the spot size.
