  • Publication number: 20210125291
Abstract: A method is described for quantitative pay summaries from mud logs, real-time fluid typing, and to minimize logging expense in high-angle or horizontal wells. The method may include receiving at least one mud log; selecting extraction system type, operating, and drilling parameters for the at least one mud log; determining hydrocarbon parameters such as methane (C1) extraction efficiency, trap response factor (TRF), and relative responses for ethane-pentane (C2-C5); correcting gas-in-mud volume to an earth surface to generate a corrected C1-C5; calculating a gas-to-oil ratio (GOR) from the corrected C1-C5; calculating a reservoir gas volume from the gas-in-mud volume to an earth surface and the GOR; determining pay cutoffs; and generating least one pay summary. The method may be executed by a computer system.

  • Patent number: 10095417
Abstract: A method for reading data from persistent storage. The method includes receiving a client read request for data from a client. The client read request includes a logical address. The method further includes determining a physical address corresponding to the logical address, determining that the physical address is directed to an open block in the persistent storage and determining that the physical address is directed to a last closed word line of the open block. The method further includes, based on these determinations, obtaining at least one read threshold value for the reading from last closed word lines, issuing a control module read request comprising the at least one read threshold value to a storage module that includes the open block, and obtaining the data from the open block using the at least one read threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20140209384
Abstract: A method of detecting changes in return drilling fluid flow during drilling operations includes injecting at least one tracer gas at a measured rate into a return drilling fluid. A first sample of gases are extracted from the return drilling fluid at a location downstream of injection of the at least one tracer gas. A first concentration of the tracer gas in the first sample of gases is measured. A second sample of gases is extracted from the return drilling fluid at the location. A second concentration of the tracer gas in the second sample is measured. Changes in measured concentration of the tracer gas from the first and second samples are determined. The method includes using the change in measured concentration to infer a change in the flow rate.

  • Publication number: 20130262290
Abstract: The application relates to a method and system for using the location information of a potential property buyer's mobile apparatus for generating a lead or financing offer for a property or home being visited by a prospective buyer. The method involves an internet based system for collecting the buyers location information during the course of visiting potential properties, matching such location information with corresponding property specific information contained in a plurality of land or property records databases, automatically populating a plurality of finance lender's electronic applications or systems with such retrieved information, then further using such information to automatically compute, generate and transmit one or more qualified or non-qualified financing offers to the user, via the user's mobile computing device, other internet connected device, or additional means.

  • Patent number: 6485928
Abstract: The T cell activation marker, granulysin, is demonstrated to be an effective antimicrobial agent. It is used in vitro and in vivo to reduce the population of viable cells in a microbial population. Of particular interest is the use of the active fragment of human granulysin, or modified forms thereof, to treat bacterial infections.

  • Patent number: 5648603
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for improving the quantitative measurement and detection of gas entrapped in drilling fluid during a drilling operation are disclosed. A sealed gas sampler is provided for agitating the mud to evolve gas samples. A known quantity of a standard gas is injected into the evolved gas stream. By monitoring the quantitative amount of the standard gas measured, the samples of evolved gas may be corrected for various error sources such as gas saturation of the sample stream.
