  • Publication number: 20210353607
Abstract: The development of a new, targeted drug delivery paradigm coupled to improved PI3K inhibitors (e.g., PI3K? inhibitors) represents a significant advance in cancer therapy. Provided herein are compounds, such as compounds of Formula (I) and (II), and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, hydrates, solvates, polymorphs, co-crystals, tautomers, stereoisomers, isotopically labeled derivatives, and prodrugs thereof. The compounds provided herein are PI3K (e.g., PI3K?) inhibitors and are therefore useful for the treatment and/or prevention of various diseases (e.g., proliferative diseases such as cancer). Also provided herein are nanoparticles and nanogels (e.g., P-selectin targeting nanoparticles) comprising PI3K inhibitors, such a compound described herein. In certain embodiments, a nanoparticle or nanogel described herein encapsulates a compound described herein for targeting delivery to cancer cells or tumors.

  • Publication number: 20110280912
Abstract: This invention relates generally to composites comprising a plurality of nanostructures, and methods of making the same. In some embodiments, the composites further comprise a polymer. In some embodiments, the composites may have desirable properties such as, for example, biodegradability, biocompatibility, and/or high tensile strength. In one embodiment, the plurality of nanostructures comprises carbon nanotubes, and the polymer comprises a poly(beta-amino ester). Various methods are provided for preparing the composites. For example, the polymer and the plurality of nanostructures may, in some embodiments, be combined in a layer-by-layer process to form the composite. High throughput methods for preparing composites having different compositions also are provided for screening composites for desirable properties.

  • Patent number: 8007417
Abstract: An exercise device for strengthening the core or midsection of the body that is suitable for use in a professional work environment. The exercise device comprises a domed seat positioned atop a plurality of baffled sections. The domed seat is deformable, allowing it to support and conform to the buttocks of a user when sitting on the device. The baffled sections are also deformable, allowing the seat to shift in all directions along a horizontal plane as a user's weight naturally shifts while sitting on the device. As the baffled sections deform and the seat persistently shifts over the course of a given period of time, a user's core muscles repeatedly tense in order to stabilize the body. The constant tension of the muscles over that period of time simulates a workout, particularly in the midsection of the body.
