  • Publication number: 20230096642
Abstract: A port includes a conduit configured to receive a spike therein. The conduit includes a first portion, a second portion, and a septum fluidly separates the first portion and the second portion of the conduit. The septum is puncturable by the spike so as to allow the spike to be inserted into the second portion of the conduit. A removable snap portion extends from a break point to the tip of the port. The thickness of the break point is less than the thickness of the remainder of the conduit wall. The removable snap portion is configured to break away from the port at the break point such that the septum is accessible by the spike via the first portion of the conduit when the removable snap portion is broken away from the port. The port may include fluorinated ethylene propylene, ethylene tetrafluoroethylene, perfluoroalkoxy alkane, and combinations thereof.

  • Patent number: 11103066
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for promoting hand sanitization which may be mounted above or near a door handle. Hand sanitization devices include a sanitizer agent cartridge disposed inside a housing body and fluidically coupled to an actuating pump. The pump is configured to dispense the sanitizer when an actuation mechanism is pushed or pulled. The cartridge is also coupled to a pump sheath disposed below the pump so as to protect the internal components of the devices from unintentional splashing by the sanitizer agent. The hand sanitization devices may also record when the door is opened, when the sanitizer is dispensed, if the cartridge is empty, and when a user is approaching the door. The hand sanitization devices also have a user interface system configured to encourage the approaching user to sanitize their hands.

  • Patent number: 10905897
Abstract: A treatment method for a variety of neurological conditions using a novel combination of near infrared (NIR) light therapy and the pharmacological agent ketamine. After administration of ketamine to a patient, NIR is aimed through the scalp at the brain, preferably targeted at the brain regions most affected. In addition, certain dietary supplements and an exercise program may be offered. Combined, these therapies have proved much more effective than the sum of their individual efficacies.

  • Publication number: 20180111004
Abstract: A treatment method using a novel combination of non-invasive near infrared light (NIR)/laser therapy and the pharmacological agent ketamine, to more efficaciously upregulate neurotrophins and improve mitochondrial function. The NIR therapy is characterized by wavelengths of 200-2000 nm at surface wattage of 0.01-50.00 watts delivered by stationary emitters. The method can employ active circular motion techniques which involve moving the infrared light applicator manually, and/or by computer-controlled apparatus, conducted in conjunction with ketamine pharmacological therapy. In addition, a novel method of targeting NIR treatment of and characterizing central nervous system disorders using SPECT functional neuroimaging followed by quantitative analysis and a novel method of targeting NIR treatment of and characterizing spinal cord or nerve-related disorders using neurophysiological testing followed by quantitative analysis.

  • Patent number: 9357837
Abstract: A toothbrush featuring a graspable elongated handle defining a longitudinal axis, the handle comprising a neck region adjacent an end of the handle and a head disposed at the end of the handle. The head is carrying flexible bristles that extend outward from an outer surface of the head. The outer surface of the head is axisymmetric. The bristles are distributed about the head such that bristles extend in each of several radial directions, including from opposite sides of the head. At least some of the bristles are extending so as to overlay the longitudinal axis in opposite directions.

  • Patent number: 9359183
Abstract: A bottle pouring dispenser featuring a dispenser housing having a lower end configured to be removably attached to and cover an open end of a bottle. The bottle pouring dispenser includes a valve providing one-way hydraulic communication from the bottle to a chamber defined within the dispenser housing. The dispenser housing has upper and lower chamber portions. A flavorant is disposed within the upper chamber portion in solid form and it is dissolvable in liquid so as to add flavoring to liquid flowing through the chamber. The flavorant is held spaced above a floor of the chamber, such that a lower portion of the chamber defines a drain volume beneath the flavorant for receiving liquid draining from about the flavorant. The bottle pouring dispenser further includes a pour spout extending from an upper end of the dispenser housing, for dispensing the flavored liquid from the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20150321277
Abstract: A dielectric fluid composition for electric discharge machining is based on saturated hydrocarbons and contains an additive wherein the additive comprises at least one carboxylic acid or a glycerol ester of a carboxylic acid and at least one amine. Preferably, the additive comprises tall oil fatty acids (TOFA). The saturated hydrocarbons have a low content of aromatic hydrocarbons, which is less than 1% w/w. The additive is present in concentrations from 1 to 25%, preferably 5 to 15% by weight in the dielectric fluid. The additive is soluble in the saturated hydrocarbon basis.
