Abstract: A system and method for pre-assembly of interior casework components for a wall space of a dwelling unit employs a container box formed as a rigid container shell in a quadrangular shape sized to fit through a standard minimum door opening of a dwelling unit. The container shell is formed by a bottom panel, upright side panels, top panel, rear panel, and removable front cover panel joined together by fastener members. The container box is mounted on roller wheels for delivery in a dwelling unit. A plurality of casework components are pre-assembled in the container shell and are installed in place when the container box is positioned in the dwelling unit. The container box may be formed as a half-height system of upper or lower casework components, and may be combined with other container box systems modularly.

Abstract: Equipment (1) for producing binaural sound signals for virtual spatial audio includes a receiver (4) for receiving signals that should be rendered as virtual spatial audio. A signal processor (3) is in communication with the receiver (4) for processing the received audio signals, performing computations using a distance variation function for varying a target distance of the virtual sound and rendering the received signals as virtual spatial audio. The equipment (1) further includes a connector (6) to which an output device is connectable, the output device being controlled by the signal processor (3) to output binaural sound signals for virtual spatial audio at the target distance.

Abstract: A multiple font management system and method in a printing device for activating multiple fonts is provided for enabling base font localization and font patching for print jobs to reduce the need to upload entire fonts in order to provide localized receipts or to provide corrections to partially-corrupted font tables. A font access level stores locations of activated base, localization and patch fonts and are referenced in an access order during character retrieval so as to apply retrieval priority to patches and localizations. A font storage level maintains multiple tier character indices for referencing character shape data in order to provide faster character searching through each of the multiple activated fonts than a single-level index.

Abstract: A method of updating resident firmware in a printer via a printer interface holding updated printer firmware includes automatically sending a request for printer hardware and firmware information to the printer. Printer hardware and firmware information received in response to the request is examined to determine if the updated printer firmware is compatible with the printer. If the updated printer firmware is not compatible with the printer, the updating is terminated. If the updated printer firmware is compatible with the printer, the updated printer firmware is automatically transmitted to the printer for storage therein.

Abstract: An automatic defect detection system may be applied to detecting defects in electronic displays. The system acquires an image of a display being tested and generates test vectors from the image. Each test vector has a spatial part and a characteristic part. The test vectors are compared to a set of representative reference vectors. A poor match to any of the representative reference vectors indicates a possible defect.
