  • Patent number: 4863545
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of attaching a flexible plastic component to a rigid plastic component. The present technique can be used for such purposes as retrofitting suction cups to rigid plastic hollow legs such as may be provided to a children's bathtub seat. The flexible plastic component is attached to the rigid plastic component by use of the following procedure: (a) a passage is provided in the rigid component; (b) an extension is contoured to slidably engage the passage in the rigid plastic; (c) the extension is provided with one or more indentations; (d) the rigid plastic inserts are contoured to fit the indentation in the extensions; (e) the inserts are placed in the indentations; (f) the rigid plastic inserts are wet with a bonding liquid; (g) and finally the extension is inserted into the passage in the rigid plastic.

  • Patent number: 4616435
Abstract: An identification card holder is formed from a one-piece molded body which has a flat base and a three-sided frame above the base with the fourth side being open to create a slot. An identification card is inserted in the slot and a transparent shield is then inserted above the card to protect the card and hold it in place.

  • Patent number: 4185740
Abstract: The instant invention relates to disposable capsules which contain coreactive components in separate chambers and means for automatically combining and mixing said coreactive components prior to opening the capsule. The instant disposable capsules may contain dental amalgam precursors such as mercury and silver which may be combined and mixed merely by placing such capsule in a dental amalgamator. The disposable capsules comprise a hollow cylindrical section closed at one end and having an internal constriction spaced from the other end, and a movable insert comprising a stem having an upper portion inserted through and frictionally engaging said constriction and a flange extending outwardly about the lower end of said stem and frictionally engaging the inner wall of the hollow cylindrical section, whereby said flange initially divides said cylinder into two noncommunicating chambers.

  • Patent number: 4085845
Abstract: A combination container and utility tray in which a tray is supported in and secured to an outer container. The interrelationship of the tray and the container together with the design of the tray is such as to permit the tray to be thermally formed of otherwise unacceptably thin sheet material thus saving in amount of materials used with resulting reduction in manufacturing costs while still providing a convenient and firm support for shipping and use of articles. The firmness of support is achieved by forming around the periphery of the tray a downwardly extending flange and forming in the main body of the tray a plurality of depressions for holding different objects with some of the depressions having a depth such that the bottom of the depression is in the same plane as the edge of the downwardly extending flange.

  • Patent number: 4043042
Abstract: The specification describes an applicator for the treatment of teeth with small amounts of polymerizable material. The applicator is in the form of an elongated member having an applicator head which contains a chamber enclosing a similarly-shaped resilient member. A closure fits over the end of the applicator head and serves to close off the base of the chamber and seal the peripheral edge of the resilient member to prevent leakage. The closure is provided with a smaller chamber which communicates with a channel extending out through the closure and adapted to receive a disposable tube. The channel is positioned at an angle to the main body of the applicator. The applicator is provided with a movable lever-operated piston which presses on the resilient member for drawing liquid into and dispensing liquid from a disposable tube after the same has been inserted into the applicator head.

  • Patent number: 3963120
Abstract: A container for prepackaging materials, as for example silver alloy and mercury for dental amalgam, which must be kept separate until just prior to combination and use is disclosed which comprises two chambers. During storage of the materials, the two chambers are separated by a barrier to prevent mixing of the ingredients therein. Combination of the ingredients is effected by twisting the top portion of the container to align a conduit therein with an opening in the barrier between the two chambers. After the material in the upper chamber flows into the lower chamber, the top portion is twisted back to close off the opening and the materials are mixed together by agitating the container.
