  • Publication number: 20120176790
Abstract: An LED floodlight fixture includes a housing, an LED heat sink secured to the housing and an LED arrangement mounted on the heat sink in non-water/air-tight condition with respect to the housing. The heat sink including (i) a base having an LED-adjacent surface and an opposite surface and (ii) a heat-dissipating section having heat-dissipating surfaces extending from the opposite surface. The LED arrangement is mounted to the LED-adjacent surface in non-water/air-tight condition with respect to the housing. The housing preferably forms at least one venting gap to provide cool-air ingress to and along the heat-dissipating surfaces by upward flow of heated air therefrom. The base of the heat sink has one or more venting apertures to provide cool-air ingress to and along the heat-dissipating surfaces by upward flow of heated air therefrom.

  • Patent number: 8070306
Abstract: An LED lighting fixture including a housing including a first and second border structures. An LED assembly is secured with respect to the housing to permit air/water-flow over the LED assembly. The LED assembly includes at least one LED-array module mounted at an elongate LED heat sink that extends along the housing and between two heat-sink ends. The heat sink has an LED-module-engaging surface and a heat-transfer surface. One heat-sink end is at the first border structure and the other heat-sink end is at the second border structure. • Patent number: RE40934
Abstract: The improved bollard luminaire has an upwardly directed, elliptical main reflector and a lamp “nested” within such reflector and positioned at or near its lower focal point. An upper cone-shaped reflector receives light from the main reflector and directs it laterally through a transparent lens element. Such element provides a 360° lateral light opening unobstructed by wiring, support posts or the like. Light reflected through such opening is relatively sharply focused along an axis about 70° from vertical. Unreflected light from the lamp which “misses” both reflectors also provides a degree of “uplighting,” often found useful for aesthetic purposes.
