  • Patent number: 7272368
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a receiver for receiving a narrow frequency deviation frequency modulated or phase modulated base band signal including a mixer for mixing the received narrow frequency deviation signal to generate an intermediate frequency signal, a band pass filter for filtering the intermediate frequency signal, and a narrow band discriminator circuit that performs a time domain expansion of the modulation deviation of the intermediate frequency signal and discriminates the base band signal.

  • Patent number: 6917787
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and apparatus for communicating a base band signal via a communication channel that connects a transmitter to a receiver comprising the steps of modulating the base band signal into a low frequency deviation modulated signal, transmitting the low frequency deviation modulated signal with a transmitter, receiving the low frequency deviation modulated signal with a receiver, mixing the received signal to an intermediate frequency signal, multiplying the intermediate frequency signal by to a multiplied frequency signal, multiplying a reference signal having a frequency generally equal to the center frequency of the intermediate frequency signal by a multiple that is one greater than or one less than the multiplied frequency signal to create a reference multiplied frequency signal, subtracting the reference multiplied frequency signal from the multiplied frequency signal to generate a wide band frequency signal, and discriminating the wide band frequency signal to obtain t

  • Publication number: 20030225713
Abstract: A prepayment system for electric power or other utility commodity distribution uses radio frequency identification (RFID) tag technology to store and transfer value (money or KWh) from the retail vendor to the customer, and deliver power to the customer from the power distribution system. The customer purchases power at a retail outlet in the form of a credit to his Card containing an RFID tag. The Card is credited for the amount purchased by the store clerk, using the store's Sales Terminal. The customer takes this Card to his residence or small business and holds it up to the RFID reader/writer sealed into the face of the System Controller. This System Controller is installed at a convenient location near, on or within his premises. Alternatively, he may use an optional Remote Terminal installed inside his premises. In either case, the display associated with the reader/writer indicates to the customer the amount of power remaining.
