Abstract: A computer system includes a text editor controller that receives input data, determines column location data indicating a location of at least one column for vertically organizing at least a portion of the input data based at least in part on the input data, and renders the input data as proportional font. A display device is configured to display a text area interface generated by the computer system, and to display the rendered proportional font in the text area interface in a vertically aligned manner based at least in part on the column location data.

Abstract: There is provided a computer-implemented method of authenticating an interaction carried out between a mobile device and a gateway, the method being carried out by an authentication system remote from the mobile device and the gateway. The method comprises the steps of: receiving one or more first data items from the gateway, the one or more first data items including dynamic data corresponding to one or more second data items uniquely identifying the interaction, wherein one of the second data items corresponds to a portion of a counter value associated with the interaction; and extracting the counter value portion from the dynamic data.

Abstract: There is provided an intermediary server system for providing data for use in authenticating an interaction between the mobile device and a gateway. This server system comprises: an input configured to receive, from the mobile device, interaction data comprising a plurality of interaction data items associated with the interaction and a security identifier uniquely identifying the interaction. The server system further comprises a processor configured with instructions that when executed cause the processor to: generate a request for reference data to be associated with the security identifier, the request comprising at least one of the plurality of interaction data items and the security identifier; transmit, to a remote authentication server, the generated request; receive, from the remote authentication server, the dynamic reference data; and alter the received interaction data by replacing at least one of the plurality of interaction data items with the dynamic reference data.

Abstract: A wheel assembly for installation on a shopping cart to retro-fit the shopping cart for facilitating self-checkout. The wheel assembly may include a support structure and a wheel rotatably supported on the support structure. The wheel assembly may further include a rechargeable battery supported by the support structure and a charging module supported on the support structure. In addition, the wheel assembly may include a force-detection module configured to provide a signal related to an item event in which an item is deposited within the shopping cart. Still further, the wheel assembly may include a processing and communications unit configured to receive the signal from the force-detection module. The processing and communications unit may transmit the signal to a device that is separate from the wheel assembly.

Abstract: A golf putting training device with a base and a plurality of posts extending upwardly from the base is provided. The plurality of posts may be positioned on a diameter of a circle and the diameter may be generally equal to a golf hole diameter. A distance between at least two of the plurality of posts is less than the golf hole diameter and thereby provides a narrow opening for a golf ball to roll through. A pair of sleeves may be positioned on a pair of adjacent posts such that the narrow opening for the golf ball to roll through is reduced. Also, an elastic member may extend between two posts and across the narrow opening for the golf ball to roll through such that a golf ball putted towards the narrow opening is redirected when it is rolls into the elastic member.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a radio and method for automatically adjusting, in response to ambient noise, the volume setting of a radio. The radio comprises a microphone for receiving ambient audio and generating a microphone signal; a codec for receiving the microphone signal and generating a processor signal representative of the ambient audio; and processor circuitry operable to receive the processor signal, determine an ambient audio level in response to the processor signal, and determine an adjusted radio volume to generate a radio volume control signal, wherein the adjusted radio volume is determined by calculating a difference between a baseline volume level and ambient audio level and adding a current volume level setting, wherein the codec is also operable to receive the radio volume control signal and generate an output signal to adjust the radio volume setting to maintain a net difference between the adjusted radio volume and ambient audio.

Abstract: A method for converting hydrocarbon materials into a product includes receiving a hydrocarbon feedstock in a first reaction chamber, receiving a process gas in the first reaction chamber, and forming a first set of discharge conditions in the presence of energy from a microwave generator, in the first reaction chamber, to convert the hydrocarbon feedstock into an intermediate product for delivery to a second reaction chamber. The method also includes delivering the intermediate product to the second reaction chamber, forming a second set of discharge conditions, and converting the intermediate product into a final product in the second reaction chamber.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for offloading session management processing into a forwarding plane. In some examples, a subscriber is coupled to a network endpoint through a session manager during a network session of the subscriber in a network environment. A session manager offloading system of the session manager can be maintained in a vector packet processing system in a forwarding plane of the network environment. The session manager offloading system can be configured to offload processing from the session manager into the forwarding plane. Further, at least a portion of subscriber traffic in a stream between the subscriber and the network endpoint through the session manager can be intercepted. Subsequently, the at least the portion of the subscribed traffic that is intercepted can be processed at the session manager offloading system as part of offloading the processing from the session manager into the forwarding plane.

Payment card personalization data is received and stored in the contactless blank IC payment card. The data had been downloaded from the remote personalization server computer to the contactless blank IC payment card via the second communication channel.
