  • Patent number: 8795054
Abstract: A method and system for conducting an interactive lottery game between players and a lottery gaming organization are provided. Player game indicia are displayed to the player on a graphical user interface along with separately displayed game indicia assigned to the gaming organization for play of the game. The player selects one of the game indicia via the user interface, with the player's selection designated on the user interface without being revealed to the gaming organization. The gaming organization subsequently randomly selects one of the game indicia, which is displayed to the player on the user interface. The system determines whether the player-selected game indicia match predetermined criteria as a function of the randomly selected game indicia. The steps are repeated until no game indicia remain or no further matches are possible.

  • Patent number: 8672738
Abstract: A multi-matrix lottery game allowing cross-matching between two sets of player indicia against two sets of game indicia drawn by a lottery authority is provided. A player selects one set of indicia from a first set of indicia matrix and another set of indicia from a second set of indicia matrix. The lottery authority determines an winning result by making similar selection from two sets of indicia matrices. The player's prize is determined by matching between indicia from the corresponding sets. The player is entitled to an enhanced prize if there is cross-matching between the player indicia from the first set and the winning indicia from the second set or between the player indicia of the second set and the winning indicia from the first set.

  • Patent number: 8056900
Abstract: A method and associated system for hosting a lottery game includes designating a plurality of game player positions on a predetermined grid presented to the player on a play slip, the game player positions defining a pathway on the grid. The pathway includes the player positions is continuous from a start grid position to a finish grid position. A lottery ticket is issued to the player that indicates the player's pathway on the grid. The lottery authority randomly selects at least one position on the grid. A winning outcome is determined based on a value of the player positions in the pathway from the start grid position to the finish grid position prior to intersection of the pathway by the randomly selected lottery position on the grid.

  • Publication number: 20110070938
Abstract: A method and associated system are provided for conducting an interactive lottery game between players and a lottery gaming organization via a graphical user interface in communication with a game server. A set of player game indicia are displayed to the player on the graphical user interface for play of the lottery game, as well as a separately displayed set of lottery game indicia assigned to the lottery gaming organization for play of the lottery game. The player selects one of the player game indicia via the graphical user interface, with the player's selection designated on the graphical user interface without being revealed to the lottery gaming organization. The lottery gaming organization subsequently randomly designates one of the lottery game indicia, which is displayed to the player on the graphical user interface. A determination is made as to whether the player selected game indicia matches a predetermined criteria as a function of the randomly designated lottery game indicia.

  • Patent number: 7846016
Abstract: An interactive game in which a player and a gaming organization are each assigned game indicia. The game includes identifying a first game indicia selected by the game player with a first game indicia selected by the gaming organization thereafter, whereupon the player and the gaming organization each then select the remaining game indicia for the game. The gaming organization's selections are disclosed to the game player during each of its turns, so the game player can calculate the possibility before making his next selection. The game player is credited with a match for each of his or her selected indicium that matches the indicium selected by the gaming organization in that turn.

  • Patent number: 7699314
Abstract: A method for hosting and playing a lottery game using nostalgic game themes. The lottery game, in one embodiment emulating Pac-ManĀ®, comprises a player selecting a path on a grid, and a lottery populating the path with numbers either generated randomly or selected by the player. The lottery also randomly places few ghosts on the same grid. A set of player indicia is determined by the numbers on the path before the path intercept with one or more ghosts. The set of player indicia is then compared with a set of winning indicia and the player receives a prize depending on the number of matches between the player indicia and winning indicia.

  • Patent number: 7631871
Abstract: A system and method for implementing a lottery game that correlates a first and second sequence of indicia, such as by pairing each term in the first sequence with the term in the second sequence in the same relative position. The correlation is subsequently mapped to a third set of indicia by the game process. For example, the game process may be a Latin square for which each term in the first sequence is identified with a row and each term in the second sequence is identified with a column (or vice versa) and the entries of the square are elements of a third set. Prizes are determined based on the properties of the third set of indicia, such as the number of occurrences of a particular symbol. The entertainment value lies in the various correlating and mapping.

  • Patent number: 7601059
Abstract: A method for hosting a word-based lottery game having a plurality of players is disclosed. A player selects a plurality of cells from a playslip and these cells will be converted to a plurality of letters and symbols by a lottery game machine. The player will use these letters and symbols along with one or more letter(s) drawn by the lottery to form words and compare these words with a list of words. For each formed word that is on the list, a point is awarded and extra bonus points may be awarded to some special words. The total points obtained by the player is compared with a prize table and the player is awarded a prize according to the prize table.

  • Patent number: 7407437
Abstract: A lottery terminal apparatus and method of playing a word based lottery includes a value input device, a display unit and a lottery input unit for receiving alphabetical game play information wherein the display unit is adapted to visually display the received alphabetical game play information. The lottery terminal unit further includes a controller having a memory and a processor, wherein the controller is operatively coupled to the display unit and is programmed to receive wager data in response to a wager made by a person. The controller and method may assign a prize value to the alphabetical game play information received from the lottery input unit and randomly select an alphabetic sample based on a distribution of choices. The controller may further determine a correlation between the alphabetic sample and the alphanumeric game play information to determine a payout value based on a comparison of the alphabetic sample and the alphanumeric game play information to determine the prize value.
