  • Patent number: 5221962
Abstract: A method and apparatus for presenting subliminal visual and/or audio messages which allows user verification of message content and presence, as well as proper adjustment of message obviousness while accounting for ambient conditions and user sensitivities is disclosed. This method and apparatus also presents synchronized reinforced sensory input of subliminal messages. This is performed by simultaneously overlaying images received from a VCR over a plurality of television signals. This apparatus directs overlay images over RF television signals having both audio and video components.

  • Patent number: 5197736
Abstract: Apparatus to increase chance predictions of lottery numbers. Said apparatus comprised of random means for selecting lottery outcomes from among fields weighted proportional to statistical data to reflect past lottery outcomes.Rotary means with peripheral fields sized based on moving averages of past lottery or game outcomes. Means to initiate and randomly terminate rotary motion of these rotary means.

  • Patent number: 5195145
Abstract: Apparatus and methods to accurately scan and record the skin surface topography. More particularly, the present invention has embodiments which can accurately scan fingerprints. Embodiments described each utilize a support surface penetrated by one or more openings. Skin surfaces to be scanned are rested on the supporting surface and are caused to be moved relative to the openings. Means to scan the skin surface topography as observed through the openings are located on the opposite side of the supporting surface from the skin surfaces to be scanned.Method and apparatus are described to facilitate credit transactions.

  • Patent number: 5133788
Abstract: An air cleaning device produces a vertical plane of moving air to block migration of airborne impurities from one area to another, and to create a low pressure area which remotely attracts impure ambient air to it. The device may have one or more restricted air inlets orthogonal to the vertical plane of moving air, with restrictions creating increased air velocity at the inlets resulting in a low pressure zone which attracts impure ambient air to the inlets. A single stage activated charcoal filter which removes chemicals and odors may be provided within the device, as well as an ionizer which electrostatically removes particulates.

  • Patent number: 4535931
Abstract: Water temperature sensors in the form of thermisters are in physical thermal contact with the inlet and outlet pipes of a water heater and may be surrounded by insulating material to make them more insensitive to the ambient air temperature and more sensitive to the temperature of the respective water pipes and the water contained therein. These two thermisters are connected in a bridge circuit connected to an operational amplifier whose output will be of a given polarity only if the measured temperature difference exceeds a predetermined value. The operational amplifier's output is then used to adjust the effective thermostatic setting of the hot water heater in a two-valued control arrangement.
