    Abstract: An improved drumstick with a retractable tip is disclosed. The drumstick comprises a hollow body with a tip that is capable of being retracted into the hollow body when struck against a drum or other surface. The tip rests in a retainer cup that contacts a spring which is adjusted by a screw. The drumstick produces sound at lower tones when the tip is retracted within the hollow body and higher tones when the tip is extended. When retracted within the hollow body, the drumstick produces a double echo when struck against a drum.
