    Abstract: The present invention is directed to system and methods for processing parcel level detail (PLD) data received by a shipping system. The shipping system stores the PLD data in a file and associates the PLD data with a tracking number. Based on criteria defined in an extraction configuration file, the shipping system extracts selected data from the PLD data file and writes it to a separate file. The shipping system then communicates the extracted data to a destination based on criteria defined in a communication parameter data file. The shipping system may also transmit the PLD data file to a server operated by the parcel delivery service.
