  • Patent number: 6160150
Abstract: A cyclic organosilicon compound comprising one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom described by formula ##STR1## where each R is an independently selected hydrocarbon radical free from aliphatic unsaturation comprising 1 to about 18 carbon atoms; each X is independently selected from the group consisting of halogen, alkoxy, acyloxy, and ketoximo; m is an integer from 2 to 7; p is an integer from 0 to 6; m+p is an integer from 2 to 8; n is 0, 1, or 2; and each Z is independently selected from the group consisting of divalent hydrocarbon radicals free of aliphatic unsaturation comprising about 2 to 18 carbon atoms and a combination of divalent hydrocarbon radicals and siloxane segments. The cyclic organosilicon compounds comprising one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom of the present invention are useful as endcappers for polymers.

  • Patent number: 6132664
Abstract: A method of forming a seal in a confined configuration with a moisture curable, alkoxy-functional RTV composition. The method comprises the steps of: (i) applying to a first substrate comprising a grooved substantially flat surface a moisture curable alkoxy-functional RTV composition; (ii) positioning the grooved substantially flat surface in occluding proximity with a substantially flat surface of a second substrate, so the alkoxy-functional RTV composition effects a seal therebetween; (iii) exposing the alkoxy-functional RTV composition to a detrimental temperature; and (iv) curing the alkoxy-functional RTV composition.

  • Patent number: 5819043
Abstract: A system, method and program for adjusting a resource reservation for multimedia and normal traffic. An initialization file is used for storing data concerning a resource including a current maximum resource reservation for multimedia traffic. The user is presented the current maximum resource reservation, preferably in a graphical user interface to allow the user to adjust the resource reservation to a new maximum resource reservation in the initialization file. One preferred graphical user interface presents a range of resource reservations is represented as a scale and the current maximum resource reservation as a point on the scale. The resource reservation is used by the operating system or other software for reserving a portion of the resource. The remainder of the resource is allocated to normal traffic.

  • Patent number: 5713043
Abstract: A method and system for the efficient determination of quality of service parameters for multimedia files accessed during operation of a specified multimedia application. Operation of the specified multimedia application is initiated. During operation, the multimedia application accesses multimedia files by reading the data stored in those files. The multimedia files are identified, and each read performed by the multimedia application is analyzed while each multimedia file is accessed. Quality of service parameters for each multimedia file may be automatically determined utilizing the analysis of each read of a multimedia file performed by the multimedia application.
