  • Publication number: 20160076920
Abstract: A sensor assembly is provided for a fingerboard latch assembly that comprises: a latch bracket; bolts for mounting the latch bracket to a fingerboard; a latch; and a bracket pin rotatably supporting the latch on the latch bracket to allow rotation of the latch between an open position and a closed position. The sensor assembly has a mounting arrangement that mounts to the bolts, holding a closed-position proximity sensor probe facing downwardly for sensing proximity of a crank portion of the latch and/or the piston head in the closed position, and also holding an open-position proximity sensor probe facing forwardly for sensing proximity of an arm of the latch in the open position.

  • Patent number: 9124449
Abstract: One embodiment receives at a first node in at least a portion of a network a routing table, the portion of the network comprising the first node and one or more second nodes, the routing table specifying the immediate neighbor that provides each of the best paths in the portion of the network based on a total cost; using the routing table, determines at the first node every second node that is necessary for the first node to reach all edges of the network, the second nodes that are necessary for the first node to reach all edges of the network comprising an active set for the first node; and sends a message from the first node to every second node to facilitate determining whether to shut down the second node.

  • Patent number: 9121753
Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatic resonance detection is disclosed for a motor-driven mechanical system such as a voice coil motor (VCM) in which a resonance detector and driver are provided. The automatic resonance detector is implemented on the same integrated circuit as the driver, and dynamically determines the natural resonant frequency of the VCM driven by the driver. The resonant frequency is determined by measuring the back electromotive force (BEMF) of the VCM, detecting the slope of the BEMF signal, and determining the resonant frequency from the slope of the BEMF signal.

  • Publication number: 20140211662
Abstract: One embodiment identifies all one-hop neighbor nodes and two-hop neighbor nodes of a node; determines an active set of one-hop neighbor nodes for the node, comprising: includes in the active set each one-hop neighbor node that is either an edge node or connected with at least one two-hop neighbor node with which no other one-hop neighbor nodes are connected; and if the active set is not yet complete, then: determine all combinations of one-hop neighbor nodes that are not already in the active set; and tests each combination in order of each combination's total-energy value to determine whether a specific combination is able to complete the active set; if no combination is able to complete the active set, then including all one-hop neighbor nodes in the active set; and communicates a message to each one-hop neighbor node in the active set indicating that it is in the active set.

  • Publication number: 20130338926
Abstract: A method for determining volumetric data for fluid within a geological formation is provided. The method includes collecting first and second dataset snapshots of the geological formation based upon measurements from the borehole at respective different first and second times and generating a differential dataset based upon the first and second dataset snapshots. Multiple points are determined within the differential dataset, including a first point representing a first displaced fluid, a second point representing a second displaced fluid, and an injected fluid point that corresponds to properties of the injected fluid. A further third point is determined based on at least one other property of the displaced fluid, and a volumetric composition of the displaced fluids is determined based upon the differential dataset, the first point, and second point, and third point.

  • Publication number: 20130268201
Abstract: A method for determining compositional data for fluids within a geological formation having a borehole therein may include collecting first and second dataset snapshots of the geological formation based upon measurements from the borehole at respective different first and second times, and with the borehole subject to fluid injection between the first and second times to displace fluids in the geological formation adjacent the borehole. The method may further include generating a differential dataset based upon the first and second dataset snapshots, normalizing the differential dataset to generate a normalized differential dataset, determining vertices defining a geometric shape and corresponding to respective different displaced fluid signatures based upon the normalized differential dataset, and determining displaced compositional data with respect to the different displaced fluid signatures based upon a position of a datapoint from the normalized differential dataset on the geometric shape.

  • Patent number: 8200314
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for locating the position, preferably in three dimensions, of a sensor by generating magnetic fields which are detected at the sensor. The magnetic fields are generated from a plurality of locations and, in one embodiment of the invention, enable both the orientation and location of a single coil sensor to be determined. The present invention thus finds application in many areas where the use of prior art sensors comprising two or more mutually perpendicular coils is inappropriate.

The base surface has an aperture with a cylindrical section extending above and below the base surface. The cylindrical section has an aperture therethrough. The upper unit has an upper surface and an aperture adapted to align with the aperture of the cylindrical section of said base unit. The upper unit has a lid to cover the apertures in the base unit cylindrical section and the upper unit. A lid inner top surface has two projecting seals, one to maintain the valve closed when the lid is closed and the other to provide a seal when the lid is closed. and a latch mechanism attaches the base unit to the upper unit. A preferred latch mechanism comprises a projection and an interfitting recess, one being on the base section and the other on the upper section. The lid top surface preferably has an essential horizontal top surface.
