  • Publication number: 20220295165
Abstract: A communications system includes a support band, a speaker, and two arms disposed on opposite ends of the support band. The speaker allows the user to receive radio communications. A first arm may comprise a communication subassembly, allowing for the user to send radio communications. The first and second arms may pivot about its connection to the support band. A second arm comprises a shield subassembly, whereby the shield subassembly may completely cover the mouth and nose of the user to prevent the exit and entrance of airborne particles. The shield assembly may comprise a medical-grade material disposed between two layers of plastic. The shield assembly may be disposable.

  • Patent number: 7702694
Abstract: A method, system, and computer readable medium for organizing, managing, and accessing large quantities of data in a centralized database received from a plurality of non-homogenous data sources. In the method, a specific format is defined for storing the received data in a plurality of data records in the centralized database. A plurality of datasets are created including a definition and a translation for each data item, the plurality of datasets establishing the data that is transferred into or out of the centralized database. The plurality of datasets are stored in the centralized database. A plurality of value tags are created defining a plurality of data formats and database column names to use in importing or exporting data. An inbound interface is created for accepting data from the plurality of non-homogenous data sources wherein the data represent measured values of physical resources. An outbound interface is created for exporting data upon request to an external application.

  • Patent number: 7072888
Abstract: A process for refining the results of a query to an internet search engine database by the use of user feedback is disclosed. It is a method to allow a user to rate the relevancy of URLs returned for a specific query. The relevancy ratings for a specific query are combined by the internet search engine with data from a user profile of personal information defined by the user. The internet search engine can determine which items of data in the profile are common between users who have rated a query result highly. The search engine can then modify the search algorithm to return those URLs rated highly by users with common profile attributes. The benefit to the internet is more efficient searching and retrieval of information for users.

  • Patent number: 6253198
Abstract: A process for maintaining ongoing registration for pages on a given search engine is disclosed. It is a method to actively cause an updating of a specific Internet search engine database regarding a particular WWW resource. The updated information can encompass changed, added, or deleted content of a specific WWW site. The process comprises the steps of having software tools at a local WWW site manually and/or automatically keep an index of added, changed, or deleted content to a particular WWW site since that WWW site was last indexed by a specific Internet search engine. The software tools will notify a specific Internet search engine of the URLs of specific WWW site resources that have been added, changed, or deleted. The Internet search engine will process the list of indices of changes, additions or deletions provided by a web site, or add the URL of resources that require indexing or re-indexing to a database and visit the WWW site to index added or re-index changed content when possible.

  • Patent number: 5747189
Abstract: A battery and circuitry for monitoring state of charge of the battery are housed in a single housing. A display may be provided for displaying an indication of the state of charge, and a communication circuit may be provided for communicating electrical signals representing the state of charge to the exterior of the housing. Preferably, the battery module additionally includes a switch device for connecting the battery to terminals external to the housing and control circuitry responsive to the monitoring circuitry for causing the battery to be connected to and disconnected from the terminals. The control circuitry operates in accordance with thresholds to prevent deep discharge and overcharge.
