  • Patent number: 11886410
Abstract: A computer-implemented method comprises receiving, by a processor, search requests to search a database; receiving a reindex request to reindex information in the database based on a new ontology for the database or a new number of shards for a first index server; initiating, by the processor, generation of a second index for the database while a first index managed by the first index server continues to be used live for responding to received search requests; completing the generation of the second index during a certain period when no search request is sent to the first index server; and in response to the completing, using the second index live for responding to received search requests.

  • Patent number: 11409722
Abstract: Systems and methods for live reindexing include receiving, at a dispatch server, a request to reindex a database, wherein, at the time the request to reindex is received, the dispatch server is configured to send queries for information in the database to a first index server, the first index server comprising a first index of information in the database. The systems and methods further include, responsive to receiving the request to reindex and while the database is live, generating a second index of the information in the database, storing the second index at a second index server, and configuring the dispatch server to use the second index server as a live index server and to no longer use the first index server as a live index server.

  • Patent number: 10659856
Abstract: A modular auditory low frequency sound reproduction and vibration generating speaker enclosure platform system for use to support a seating apparatus includes a main housing having a top wall, a bottom wall, a front wall, a rear wall, and a pair of side walls forming an internal chamber, a subwoofer speaker coupled to the main housing, an amplifier electrically coupled to the subwoofer, and a plurality of reflex ports coupled to the front wall of the main housing. The top wall of the main housing is designed to support the seating apparatus thereon. The amplifier is designed to activate the subwoofer to generate the sound pressure waves that project from the speaker to the seating apparatus and throughout the main housing. The generated sound pressure waves transferred along the top wall of the main housing delivers tremulous movement to the seating apparatus situated thereon.

  • Patent number: 9737788
Abstract: A detachable chair lift leg rest is disclosed. The leg rest includes a lower attachment member and an upper attachment member which are removably secured to the shaft of a ski pole. The disclosure also includes a hanger that is either permanently or removably secured to a ski boot. In one embodiment, lightweight hooks, are spaced apart so that when a skier is on a chairlift, the lower hook is parallel to the ski boot and the upper hook is at the correct height to attach to the chairlift's restraint bar creating a ninety degree angle between the skier's knees and their torso. The lower engagement member is hooked to the hanger on the ski boot and the upper engagement member is engaged with the restraint bar of the chair lift. The ski pole with the upper and lower engagement members affixed allow the weight of the skier's legs, boots, and skis to hang from the restraint bar thereby reducing the strain on the skier's body, specifically the skier's knees.

  • Patent number: 7612801
Abstract: Digital cameras are calibrated so that detailed highlights and shadows in scenes being photographed are reproduced in digital images of those scenes by calibrating holographic data obtained from target images at those scenes. In one embodiment the target image is obtained from an actual target having black and white, and optionally gray, target areas; and in another embodiment, the target image is obtained from the scene being photographed. In both embodiments, histographic data is manipulated so that shadow and highlight data spikes are automatically placed in boundary areas by automatically adjusting lens aperture and/or shutter speed prior to taking the desired photograph of the scene. The resulting photograph is adjusted for highlight and shadow details.

  • Patent number: 7248284
Abstract: Calibration targets for use with digital cameras comprise black and white target areas to which digital cameras are exposed simultaneously to provide proper settings for highlight and shadow sensitivity prior to making a digital photograph. In addition a white or gray neutral target area, without color bias, is provided, to which the digital cameras are exposed to provide desired settings for color balance prior to making digital photographs. In one embodiment of the calibration target, the black and white target areas are on one side of a panel and the white or gray neutral target area is on the other side of the panel. In accordance with methods of calibrating digital cameras and to methods of photography, the image of the black and white target areas is adjusted by viewing a histogram display thereof and adjusting exposure settings until spikes in the histogram representing black and white detection are equally balanced between boundaries with no lateral offset.

  • Patent number: 6907695
Abstract: A substantially preassembled modular frame system for erecting permanent school buildings. The system design, materials, and construction have been pre-approved by state inspectors. The system provides a roof that is extensible from a low position that is configured to permit the system to be transported on highways and fit under common overpasses and bridges to a pitched position that provides a sloped roof profile to improve insulation factors of completed buildings and better shed rain, snow, and debris. The system includes anchor assemblies that are rigidly connected to the frame to inhibit uplift forces acting on the building from distorting or dislodging the building from the foundation. The system also includes preassembled wall panels and a convenient mechanism for emplacing and securing the wall panels within the modular frames.
