Patent number: 11920347Abstract: A joist assembly system that is structured for dynamic retrieval of components, dynamic and precise positioning and location of retrieved components, assembly of the components to form a joist, and delivery of the assembled joist. The joist assembly system has a plurality of material handling systems, a plurality of welding systems, and a rigging table system. The material handling systems are structured to load and position the components such as chords and webs onto the rigging table. The rigging table in turn supports the chords or webs. Subsequently, the plurality of welding systems weld the webs to the chords to form the joist.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2022Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: NUCOR CORPORATIONInventors: Jason Alan Freidenberger, Joseph Patrick Cagle, Christopher Ray Couch, Richard Thomas Erickson, Travis Marshall Fuhrman, John Lyman Hale, Matthew Glenn Hire, Christopher William Martin, James E. Patent number: 10515027Abstract: According to examples, an apparatus may include a memory to which a first queue and a second queue are assigned, in which a storage device is to access data task requests stored in the first queue and the second queue, in which the apparatus is to transfer the first queue to a second apparatus. The apparatus may also include a central processing unit (CPU), the CPU to input data task requests for the storage device into the second queue, in which the second apparatus is to store the first queue in a second memory of the second apparatus, and the storage device is to access data task requests from the first queue stored in the second memory of the second apparatus and data task requests from the second queue stored in the memory to cause the apparatus and the second apparatus to share access to the storage device.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2017Date of Patent: December 24, 2019Assignee: Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LPInventors: Kirill Malkin, Alan Poston, Matthew Jacob

Publication number: 20140356152Abstract: An apparatus for moving a turbine shell of a turbomachine is provided. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a shell support having a first member and a second member coupled to a side of an upper portion of a turbine shell. The apparatus also includes an actuator coupled to the shell support. The actuator may rotate the upper portion of the turbine shell to expose internal components of a turbine system. The apparatus may also include a platform positioned adjacent the shell support and a pivot assembly coupled to the shell support and actuator. The pivot assembly of the apparatus may be positioned on a first surface of the platform. Additionally, the apparatus may include a securing structure positioned on a second surface of the platform for preventing movement of the shell support during the rotating of the upper portion of the turbine shell.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 4, 2013Publication date: December 4, 2014Inventors: Andrew Thomas Hynous, Gerald Robert Graham, Larry Alan Poston

Patent number: 7778958Abstract: Data on a primary data volume is restored by generating an image of the primary data volume at a specified point-time based on data stored on a backup data volume, where the data stored on the backup data volume includes data written to the primary data volume and stamps to indicate when the data was written to the primary data volume. The primary data volume is restored based on the generated image of the primary data volume. Additionally, while the primary data volume is being restored, read/write requests to the primary data volume are satisfied using the generated image of the primary data volume.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 2003Date of Patent: August 17, 2010Assignee: Quantum CorporationInventors: David Leroy Rand, Lloyd Alan Poston

Publication number: 20080162594Abstract: Computer systems may loose data when a failure occurs within a system. To counteract such loss of data a backup system may be employed. Common backup systems make a copy of either of the data on a storage device or the data, which has changed, on a storage device. The process of backing up data may involve storing a relatively large amount of data and so is commonly done infrequently, such as once per day. If a computer's data is backed up only once per day, several hours of data may be lost if a computer system falls. Embodiments of the present invention may be used to prevent this type of data loss by backing up more frequently. In order to back up more frequently less data at a time is backed up. Instead of the data undergoing a wholesale backup infrequently, embodiments of the present invention form a timed log of the storage writes performed by the computer system. The log provides a running picture of activity to the computer storage system.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2008Publication date: July 3, 2008Applicant: Quantum CorporationInventor: Lloyd Alan POSTON
