  • Patent number: 5022768
Abstract: A moulded roller bearing cage assembly for use for drawers and cabinets replaces standard metallic bearing cages and balls. The bearing cage, its rollers detachably fixed within the apertures, is loaded between the flanges of the channels on the standard two or three part drawer slide. The rollers before and during assembly are fixed at their ends integrally with the cage to allow for easy installation. Once the rollers come in contact with the raceways of the installation the detachable links are broken allowing the rollers to be free to rotate. The rollers and cages can be moulded in any configuration to allow for different channel and raceway shapes.

  • Patent number: 4991981
Abstract: A unique ball-bearing retainer is disclosed for use with two or three part drawer slides for filing cabinets and the like. The retainer uses a standard channel member with upturned side flanges. The flanges are equipped with round apertures and then bent at the approximate mid-point thereby creating an elliptical aperture providing a seat for rotation of a common steel ball. The ball comes in contact with the aperture at the base and the top of the same such that during operation of the drawer slide the portions of the ball having maximum rotation or movement do not contact the retainer thereby reducing friction, and increasing the life of the drawer slide.

  • Patent number: 4932792
Abstract: In file cabinets and drawer storage assemblies, where drawer slides are employed, a unique anti-rebound device not only cushions and resists rapid closure of a drawer but also resists reopening of the drawer by rebound. The slippage outward of the drawers when the cabinet is moved out of a vertical position is also eliminated, except when an external force is applied to pull open the drawer. The unique elongate anti-rebound member has resilient sides which deflect when engaged by two protruding lugs on the inner channel of the drawer slide. The device fits onto an end flange of the outer channel and is positioned between the intermediate and inner channels so that no loss of space or strength occurs.
