    Abstract: An eating surface assembly comprising a tray for supporting food items thereon; a socket integrally formed in the tray; a receptacle; and a plug integrally formed on the receptacle. The plug is adapted for mating with the socket in the tray for releasably securing the receptacle on top of the tray. The plug includes a flange which is sized and configured so that its upper surface is substantially flush with the upper surface of the tray when the receptacle is secured to the tray. This creates a substantially continuous, uniform, level surface around the receptacle.
