Abstract: Methods and compositions for controlling ocular hypertension associated with (i) primary open angle glaucoma (POAG), (ii) other forms of glaucoma, or (iii) glucocorticoid therapy are disclosed. The methods involve administration of angiostatic agents and other IOP-lowering agents via local injections in the anterior segment of the eye. The most preferred IOP-lowering agents are angiostatic steroids, particularly anecortave acetate, and the most preferred route of administration is an anterior juxtascleral injection or implant. The invention is based in part on the discovery that anterior juxtascleral injections of anecortave acetate are capable of controlling intraocular pressure for sustained periods of from one to several months or more. This result is believed to be attributable to facilitation of access of the anecortave acetate to the trabecular meshwork via the anterior juxtascleral route of administration.

Abstract: An irrigating technique that can be used to increase the flow of fluid through the trabecular meshwork. Pulses of relatively high pressure irrigating are directed at the trabecular meshwork. These pulses can be focused, thereby perforating the trabecular meshwork, or applied over a larger area so as to stimulate the trabecular meshwork for improved fluid transport. In addition, the pulses of the irrigating balance salt solution can be used to clean away material, such as iris pigment, that may be blocking or clogging the trabecular meshwork. Such a technique may be practiced using the herein disclosed tip with commercially available surgical handpieces.

Abstract: A method and system for routing or forwarding communications to an intended recipient. The communications may be from a variety of sources including facsimiles and electronic mail messages. The programming of routing information may be performed manually or may be obtained automatically from other programs which store information regarding the location of a user. For example, a computerized scheduler, calendar, or other type of personal information manager may be read to obtain information about the recipient. The forwarding or routing of communications to the intended recipient may be made based on one or more of the time and date, an indication from the intended recipient that he has arrived at a predefined location or at a new and undefined location, based on an automatically sensed position of the recipient, or based on checking in to a hotel by the intended recipient.

Abstract: In order to provide a vehicle seat frame which gives a designer great frem, a seat frame is formed of a moulded body or a foam, such as polyurethane, reinforced internally by a fabricated sheet metal skeleton.The frame is covered by a pad to complete the seat.The seat back 6 and seat pan 5 portions of the frame are structurally independent.Seat belt anchorages (18, 18a, 21) are mounted on the seat back frame portion rather than to the vehicle body, and the arrangement is such that the restraint loads do not pass through the seat pan portion 5 of the frame.
