  • Patent number: 10198451
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing electronic data are disclosed. Various data management operations can be performed based on a metabase formed from metadata. Such metadata can be identified from an index of data interactions generated by a journaling module, and obtained from their associated data objects stored in one or more storage devices. In various embodiments, such processing of the index and storing of the metadata can facilitate, for example, enhanced data management operations, enhanced data identification operations, enhanced storage operations, data classification for organizing and storing the metadata, cataloging of metadata for the stored metadata, and/or user interfaces for managing data. In various embodiments, the metabase can be configured in different ways. For example, the metabase can be stored separately from the data objects so as to allow obtaining of information about the data objects without accessing the data objects or a data structure used by a file system.

  • Publication number: 20180136249
Abstract: An angle of attack sensor includes a vane that is freely rotatable to align with a direction of an oncoming airflow over the vane. The airfoil includes a root proximate a vane hub that connects to a rotatable shaft, a tip opposite the root, a leading edge, a trailing edge opposite the leading edge, a first lateral face, a second lateral face, and a heating element disposed within the airfoil between the first and second lateral faces proximate the leading edge. The first lateral face extends from the leading edge to the trailing edge. The second lateral face is opposite the first lateral face and extends from the leading edge to the trailing edge. The first and second lateral faces are symmetric about a chord of the airfoil and each have an outer surface profile that is nonlinear and geometrically convex from the leading edge to the trailing edge.

  • Publication number: 20180079525
Abstract: The bearings of aircraft angle of attack (AOA) vanes are susceptible to lightning strike damage, which causes fluting on the inner and outer races of the bearings and causes the bearings to generate friction, noise, and vibrations. To prevent the bearings from experiencing damage due to lightning strikes, the bearings, the shaft, and/or the mounting plate are configured to create an electric isolator to prevent the electric current from the lightning strike from passing through the bearings, thereby preventing the bearings from incurring lightning strike damage.

  • Publication number: 20180018099
Abstract: Systems and methods for performing hierarchical storage operations on electronic data in a computer network are provided. In one embodiment, the present invention may store electronic data from a network device to a network attached storage (NAS) device pursuant to certain storage criteria. The data stored on the NAS may be migrated to a secondary storage and a stub file having a pointer pointing to the secondary storage may be put at the location the data was previously stored on the NAS. The stub file may redirect the network device to the secondary storage if a read request for the data is received from the network device.

  • Patent number: 9107737
Abstract: An adjustable goggle with eyepieces that are individually custom fitted over the user's eye sockets. The goggle includes a strap configured to extend around the user's head, two face conforming eyepieces affixed and configured on the strap so that they may be positioned over the user's eyes, and a three axis, adjustable nosepiece that extends between the two eyepieces. The nosepiece is made of one or more elastic strands that have the same or different resilient properties. The ends of the strands are affixed to the eyepieces to apply a resilient force thereon. During use, the user selects the desired nosepiece so that the eyepieces may be independently aligned themselves over the eye sockets and form a comfortable, watertight seal against the surrounding facial tissues when the goggles are worn. If needed, an optional sealing pad may be affixed to the inside surface of each eyepiece to provide a watertight seal against the surrounding facial tissues.
