  • Publication number: 20230327386
Abstract: Power adapters having Universal Serial Bus (USB) Type-C (USB-C) receptacles acting in a USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) sink mode are disclosed herein. The USB-C receptacle can be connected to a USB-PD source via a USB-C cable. The power adapter further includes a socket in electrical communication with the USB-C receptacle that receives a removable (interchangeable) barrel plug of a size corresponding to the barrel receptacle of an output device to be powered by the power adapter. The power adapter uses a USB-PD controller to communicate with the USB-PD source via the USB-C receptacle to request that power be provided at a desired direct current (DC) voltage by the USB-PD source to the USB-C receptacle. The power so received is then delivered between the USB-C receptacle and the socket. From the socket, the power travels through the attached removable barrel plug and to the barrel receptacle of the output device.

  • Patent number: 10369068
Abstract: Disclosed is a head positioning device for use in laryngoscopy, having a base plate, a head plate, at least one proximal arm and at least one distal arm. The head plate has a proximal end and a distal end. The at least one proximal arm is pivotally connected between the base plate and at or near the proximal end of the head plate. The at least one distal arm is pivotally connected between the base plate and at or near the distal end of the head plate. The proximal and distal arms are operable during use to simultaneously elevate the head plate above the base plate and tilt it at an angle such that the proximal end of the head plate is in a higher elevated position than the distal end.

  • Publication number: 20160095402
Abstract: A universal case for a portable electronic device (PED) includes a rear panel, a front panel, a flexible member, and a flap configured to secure the universal case in a closed position. The flap and rear panel may have magnetic portions that can engage in any of a plurality of positions to close the universal case. The flap may be coupled to the front panel by a flexible member. In an embodiment, when the magnetic portions engage in a first position the flexible member partially overlaps the rear panel, and when the magnetic portions engage in a second position the flexible member is offset from the rear panel. A maximum distance between the rear panel and the front panel is greater when in the second position than when in the first position. Thus, the universal case may be used to secure PEDs having various lengths, widths, aspect ratios, and thicknesses.
