  • Publication number: 20100095525
Abstract: A method of repairing a one-piece annular combustor of a gas turbine engine includes cutting through the combustor liner to separate the combustor into two pieces, repairing the combustor as desired, and then closing the combustor by using a make-up ring, which may be welded in place between the two pieces of the combustor. The make-up ring may be provided with an axial length selected such that an overall length of the combustor after the repair process is substantially equal to an initial overall length of the combustor before the repair.
