  • Patent number: 5555562
Abstract: A flexible articular conditioning system includes a plurality of elongated, solid, non-shifting weight members. The weight members may be removable for cleaning, and may be replaced by progressively heavier weight sets. Weight is not merely added to the wearer. The weights are advantageously evenly distributed across the body and located above and below the respective joint cavities. The disclosed systems are particularly well suited for sports specific training. The articulates may be properly and safely conditioned while exercising the muscles that control those articulates.

  • Patent number: 4800814
Abstract: An arming device for a missile having a rotating tail fin assembly is disclosed. The device includes a distance counter comprising a given length of coiled tape contained within a rotatable drum, the length of the tape being determined by the distance required to be covered by the missile before arming the warhead. The tape is wound onto a shaft driven by the tail fin assembly from the drum which is initially locked to the missile body, and when the tape has been completely wound onto the shaft, the drum is released and is free to rotate through a half-turn to initiate arming of the warhead.

  • Patent number: 4739705
Abstract: A combined warhead arming and drive motor ignition device for a self-propelled missile having a warhead and a drive motor comprises a first acceleration responsive means (1, 2, 3, 4) to provide an output when the missile achieves a first acceleration, a timer initiated by the output from the first acceleration responsive means and providing a first output (i) after expiry of a first period and before expiry of a second period and a second output (v) after expiry of a third period, and a speed responsive means (5, 6) to provide a speed output (ii) when the missile has attained a predetermined speed and also to provide a first distance indication output (vi) when the missile has travelled a first distance but has not yet travelled a second distance and a second distance indication (vi) output when the missile has travelled a third distance.

  • Patent number: 4738201
Abstract: Apparatus for e.g. igniting a boost motor of a spinning projectile comprises an inertia wheel (5) which remains stationary within the spinning projectile and a linearly movable member (10) initially decoupled from the inertia wheel but become engaged therewith when a predetermined linear acceleration state of the projectile is attained and which then initiates winding up of a flexible tape coupled to a switch mechanism. When the tape has been fully wound up, i.e. when the missile has spun through a preset number of turns, the switch mechanism is pulled to operate it via the tape. Thus, the switch mechanism is only operated when the predetermined linear acceleration condition and the preset number of rotations (which equates to a preset flight distance) have been attained.
