  • Patent number: 11658399
Abstract: An antenna assembly for installation on a spoiler of a vehicle includes a substrate having an inner surface and an outer surface coupled to an interior surface of the spoiler of the vehicle. The substrate includes an upper substrate portion, a lower substrate portion and a rear substrate portion between the upper substrate portion and the lower substrate portion. The upper and lower substrate portions are oriented generally horizontally. The rear substrate portion is oriented generally vertically. The antenna assembly includes an antenna element coupled to the substrate having antenna members in a serpentine antenna pattern including cross members extending across the substrate and lateral members extending between the cross members. The antenna element includes an upper antenna portion, a lower antenna portion and a rear antenna portion between the upper antenna portion and the lower antenna portion.

  • Patent number: 11554752
Abstract: A wavetrap includes a housing having a base including a base plate. The housing has a wire channel, an inductor pocket and a terminal pocket. The housing has a capacitor pocket that receives a capacitor. The wavetrap includes a defroster wire having a wire end received in the wire channel. The defroster wire extends from the housing for connection to a vehicle defroster circuit. The wavetrap includes an inductor supported by the base plate. The inductor is received in the inductor pocket. The inductor has a coil extending between a first end and a second end. The first end is coupled to the wire end of the defroster wire. The wavetrap includes a ground terminal supported by the base plate. The ground terminal is received in the terminal pocket. The ground terminal is electrically connected to a ground circuit.

  • Patent number: 11264724
Abstract: An antenna includes a feed element, a ground element, and a slot therebetween. The feed element includes a feed end wall and first and second feed side walls extending from the feed end wall at first and second corners. The ground element includes a ground end wall and first and second ground side walls at first and second corners. The slot includes a first slot portion between the first feed and ground side walls, a second slot portion between the second feed and ground side walls, and a third slot portion between the feed and ground end walls. The third slot portion is continuous between the first slot portion and the second slot portion.

  • Publication number: 20150371511
Abstract: A tracking device is provided having a normally open passive switch for detecting when a door on a container has been opened or has been attempted to be opened. The device includes a powered communication system and the normally open passive switch that is biased toward a closed position. The switch is maintained in the normally open condition via a magnet disposed near the switch. The magnet is disposed on a rotatable container latching rod. The switch includes a magnetically reactive element coupled thereto. When the magnet is moved away from the switch, such as when the container rod is rotated, the bias in the switch will cause the switch to move to the closed position. Upon moving the switch to the closed position, the communications system will transmit a message that the door is open. When the switch is in the normally open state, the circuit on which the switch is disposed will not draw any power.

Abstract: A tracking device is provided having a normally open passive switch for detecting when the tracking device has been removed from a container on which it has been installed. The device includes a powered communication system and the normally open passive switch that is biased toward a closed position. The switch is maintained in the normally open condition via a magnet disposed near the switch. The magnet is disposed on the container and aligned with the switch. The switch includes a magnetically reactive element coupled thereto. When the tracking device is moved away from the container, the magnetic force on the switch will be reduced, and the bias in the switch will cause the switch to move to the closed position. Upon moving the switch to the closed position, the communications system will transmit a message that the device has been removed. When the switch is in the normally open state, the circuit on which the switch is disposed will not draw any power.
