  • Publication number: 20150116345
Abstract: A substantially self-contained digital instrumentation module (30) for fixed and rotary wing aircraft provides flight and other situational information, such as attitude, altitude, airspeed, and slip information, during normal aircraft operation or during emergencies, such as a failure of the aircraft's primary instrumentation. The module (30) can be mounted in any of various possible orientations. It includes redundant memories (38,40,50,52) to preserve back-up copies of software and settings during upgrades and changes. It partitions certified software from non-certified software. It can receive software upgrades and settings changes via a common portable memory device. It can automatically calculate and synchronize barometric pressure with the aircraft's primary instrumentation. It also allows for creating a customizable dimming curve (220,222), and for creating customizable range markings (114).

  • Publication number: 20150030003
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for storing, manipulating, retrieving, and forwarding state, e.g., context and other information, used to support communications sessions with one or more end nodes, e.g., mobile devices, are described. Various features are directed to a mobile node controlling the transfer of state from a first access node to a second access node during a handoff operation thereby eliminating any need for state transfer messages to be transmitted between the second access node and the first access node during handoff. Other features of the invention are directed to the use of a core network node to store state information. State information stored in the core node can be accessed and used by access nodes in cases where a mobile node does not send a state transfer message during a handoff, e.g., because communication with the first access node is lost or because such messages are not supported.

  • Publication number: 20140372923
Abstract: High performance touch drag and drop are described. In embodiments, a multi-threaded architecture is implemented to include at least a manipulation thread and an independent hit test thread. The manipulation thread is configured to receive one or more messages associated with an input and send data associated with the messages to the independent hit test thread. The independent hit test thread is configured to perform an independent hit test to determine whether the input hit an element that is eligible for a particular action, and identify an interaction model associated with the input. The independent hit test thread also sends an indication of the interaction model to the manipulation thread to enable the manipulation thread to detect whether the particular action is triggered.

  • Patent number: 8788440
Abstract: A method is disclosed that generates design profiles and a surface therefrom that promote water drainage from soil in an area of interest. Topographical data describing an initial surface of the area of interest are used to form initial profiles. The method generates the design profiles using the initial profiles and desired design parameters such as minimum slope, maximum slope, optimal slope, maximum depth, optimal depth, starting elevation, ending elevation, rules of curvature, and rules of earth balancing. The method generates design surface profiles so that the cut volumes and fill volumes of the soil are at or near balance as much as possible from the available soil in the area of interest.

  • Patent number: 8762759
Abstract: To reduce power consumption, a processor can be placed into a reduced power state. Before doing so, interrupt events can be designated as wakeup events. While the processor is in the reduced power state, if an event designated as a wakeup event occurs, then a signal is directed to a wakeup event handler instead of to an interrupt handler. In response to the signal, the wakeup event handler causes power to be restored to the processor, so that the event can be subsequently serviced.

  • Patent number: 8682928
Abstract: Provided is a method, system, and program implemented by a server for controlling and providing access to a file to at least one remote computer over a network. The server maintains metadata about files. The files are maintained at remote storage locations. The server receives a request from the remote computer for a filename of a requested file over the network. The server determines from the metadata one remote storage location address associated with the filename where the requested file is located. The server then updates the metadata for the requested file and sends the storage location address to the remote computer.
