Abstract: A composition which is a silicone polyether containing arylalkyl groups, most preferably an arylalkyl group such as the 2-phenylpropyl group, i.e., --CH.sub.2 CH(C.sub.6 H.sub.5)CH.sub.3. The compositions demonstrate improvements in emulsification over silicone polyethers without such arylalkyl groups. The compositions have a formula generally corresponding toR.sub.3 SiO(R.sub.2 SiO).sub.x (RQSiO).sub.y (RQ'SiO).sub.z SiR.sub.3in which R is an alkyl group, Q is a polyoxyalkylene block, Q' is an arylalkyl radical, x is 0-500, y is 1-50, and z is 1-50. The compositions and emulsions containing the compositions have general utility, but are especially useful in the personal care arena.

Abstract: A glycerol functional polysiloxane having the formula ##STR1## wherein R is an alkyl group having from one to six carbon atoms or a phenyl group; x has a value of from zero to about six hundred; y has a value of from one to about six hundred and z has a value of from two to about eight.

Abstract: A method of enhancing the rewettability of fabrics treated in a laundering operation in which the fabrics are contacted with a mixture including a rinse cycle fabric softening conditioning composition capable of producing on the fabrics a hydrophobic surface, and a hydrophobic cationic emulsion of a silicone polymer. Preferably, the fabric softening conditioning composition includes a cationic compound selected from the group consisting of quaternary ammonium salts and organic based compounds having C.sub.12 to C.sub.18 hydrocarbon chain molecules of amines, esters, acids, or amine oxides, and the silicone polymer is a highly branched and crosslinked polydimethylsiloxane.

Abstract: A particulate fabric laundering detergent formulation in which there is included at least one organic surfactant selected from the group consisting of anionic, nonionic, ampholytic, and zwitterionic compounds and mixtures thereof, at least one detergent builder selected from the group consisting of inorganic and organic water soluble builder salts, water insoluble builder salts, and seeded builders, and a mixture of a water dispersible fabric softening conditioning compound, a polydimethylsiloxane polymer, and a polyoxyalkylene siloxane copolymer.
