  • Publication number: 20230310130
Abstract: A method includes inserting an irradiated, cross-linked thermoplastic polymer into a pressure chamber of a pressure molding machine, positioning an oral model on a molding platform of the pressure molding machine, applying heat using a heat element to soften the thermoplastic polymer, and applying pressure to form the thermoplastic polymer over the oral model to produce a tray. The method also includes scanning the tray to produce a scanned surface and milling a frame based on the scanned surface. The frame includes a channel that fits the tray. The method further includes inserting the tray into the channel of the frame and coupling the tray to the frame.

  • Publication number: 20230210687
Abstract: An oral appliance includes an upper arch and a seal. The upper arch may be positioned proximate a maxillary dentition of a user. The upper arch includes a first tab and a second tab positioned on opposite sides of a plane substantially bisecting the upper arch. The seal defines a first receptacle and a second receptacle that may receive the first and second tabs to couple the seal to the upper arch and to inhibit breathing through a mouth of the user.

  • Publication number: 20210369422
Abstract: A method includes forming a first layer of a disk, the first layer comprising a first material and forming a second layer of the disk by depositing a second material on the first layer. The method further includes irradiating at least the second layer of the disk to cross-link the second material. The first material has a higher melting point than the second material, and the dual-layer disk is configured to be thermoformed into an oral appliance.

  • Publication number: 20180147084
Abstract: In some embodiments, a system for improving a user's breathing includes a mask configured to be positioned on a user's face to deliver gas to the user, a first oral appliance arch configured to be worn in the user's mouth on the user's mandibular dentition, a first tension element coupled to the first oral appliance arch, an adjustment device coupled to the mask, and a control system. The adjustment device is configured to receive the first tension element and to adjust the position of the first tension element to adjust the forward position of the first oral appliance arch, such that the when the mask is positioned on the user's face and the first oral appliance arch is worn on a user's mandibular dentition, the forward position of the user's mandible is adjusted.
