  • Patent number: 8601695
Abstract: A shaving unit has at least one cutter (10, 12) for cutting hairs (11), a guide surface (4) extending closely adjacent the cutter or cutters (10, 12), and hair guides (3) projecting from the guide surface (4). The hair guides (3) bound channels (5) extending from an area spaced from the cutter or cutters (10, 12) towards the cutter or cutters (10, 12), and the hair guides each have a skin contact surface (6) facing away from the guide surface (4) and a surface (16) facing the guide surface (4), wherein the skin contact surface (6) is at least partially round and meets the surface (16) facing the guide surface (4) along a hair catching edge (7).

  • Patent number: 8505205
Abstract: A personal care system includes an electrical shaver and a cleaning device for cleaning a shaving head. The cleaning device further includes a displacing system for displacing its supporting member relative to a cleaning fluid container from a first position in which the shaving head, when the shaver is supported by the supporting member, is not in contact with the cleaning liquid in the container, to a second position in which the shaving head is at least partially immersed in the cleaning liquid in the container. The cleaning device does not need any pump for displacing the cleaning liquid. Rather, activation of the shaving head that causes, e.g., rotation of a cutting unit, provides a sufficient pumping effect for the cleaning liquid when the shaving head is immersed in the cleaning liquid.

  • Patent number: 8458914
Abstract: A shaving device includes cooperating hair cutting elements and a driver for driving the hair cutting elements. The shaving device is configured to allow for automatic contour following during its application on the skin of a user. At least one cutting element is pivotably arranged in the shaving device, wherein a pivot axis intersects at least one position where the cutting element is contacted by a driving member for imposing reciprocating movement on the cutting element.

  • Patent number: 8337632
Abstract: A cleaning apparatus for cleaning a hair-cutting portion of an electric hair-cutting device includes a cleaning-liquid basin for receiving the hair-cutting portion of the electric hair-cutting device in a central area such that the hair-cutting portion is at least partially immersed in the cleaning liquid. The electric hair-cutting device is cleaned by generating a cleaning-liquid flow revolving within the basin around the central area of the basin, the hair-cutting portion being at least partially immersed in the cleaning liquid. The liquid flow effectively entrains debris away from the hair-cutting portion.

  • Patent number: 8186064
Abstract: Shaving apparatus with cutting members which are movable relative to one another and are each provided with a row of substantially V-shaped teeth having edges, a cutting opening between each pair of cooperating teeth for catching hairs, said cutting opening having a shearing angle between 1° and 30°, wherein the cutting openings are not completely closed during operation of the shaving apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7909047
Abstract: A cleaning apparatus (4) for cleaning a hair-cutting portion (2) of an electric hair-cutting device (1) includes a cleaning-liquid basin (5) for receiving the hair-cutting portion of the electric hair-cutting device in a central area such that the hair-cutting portion is at least partially immersed in the cleaning liquid (13). The electric hair-cutting device is cleaned by generating a cleaning-liquid flow revolving within the basin (5) around the central area of the basin, the hair-cutting portion being at least partially immersed in the cleaning liquid. The liquid flow effectively entrains debris away from the hair-cutting portion.

  • Publication number: 20100299930
Abstract: A shaving device comprising cooperating hair cutting elements (4, 5) and means for driving the hair cutting elements (4, 5) is adapted to allow for automatic contour following during its application on the skin of a user. In particular, at least one cutting element (4, 5) is pivotably arranged in the shaving device, wherein a pivot axis (15) is intersecting at least one position where the cutting element (4, 5) is contacted by a driving member (14) for imposing the reciprocating movement on the cutting element (4, 5). In this way, a high drive stiffness is guaranteed, which is particularly important when a stroke of the movement of the cutting element (4, 5) is relatively small, for example, in an order of 100 ?m.
