Abstract: An electrical floor box having more than four outlets around a central access area. Each outlet has a wiring compartment formed from interlocking partitions with only the rear of each wiring compartment formed from the perimeter walls of the box. The partitions interlock through the use of a tab and slot system. A wire tunnel is positioned at the bottom of the central access area of the box and is formed from two pieces to enable easy removal of the wire tunnel and to facilitate access to the wires therein.

Abstract: An electrical connector with a cord seal is disclosed for attachment to an end of an electrical cord to prevent dust, moisture and other foreign matter from entering the electrical connector. The electrical connector preferably a connector body with a plurality of electrical contacts mounted therein, and cover coupled to the connector body. The cover has an end wall with the cord seal mounted therein such that the outer surface of the cord seal is at least substantially flush with respect to the exterior surface of the end wall of the cover to increase the difficulty of removing the cord seal from the opening in the end wall of the cover. In other words, the geometry of the exterior surface of the end wall of the cover blends with the geometry of the outer surface of the cord seal. The electrical connector can be either a male or a female electrical connector.

Abstract: A receptacle switch having a center-off position, momentary-on position, and maintained-on position. The switch includes a housing with a toggle, a first stationary contact, a second stationary contact and a third movably contact, and a leaf spring therein. The toggle has a cam member which engages a cantilever arm supporting third contact to hold the third contact spaced between the first and second contacts in center-off position. The cam member also controls movements of the third contact from its center-off position, to maintained-on position, and to its momentary-on position. The leaf spring selectively engages a first notch in a bottom portion of the toggle to maintain the toggle in the off position, or engages a second notch in the bottom portion of the toggle to maintain the toggle in the maintained-on position, or engages a smooth portion of the bottom portion of the toggle to momentarily maintain the toggle in its momentary-on position until the toggle is released.

Abstract: An electrical connector is provided with means to expand the opening of the originally manufactured cover for different cord sizes by providing a ring of material readily fractured by the installer or user of the device to enlarge the opening.

Abstract: An electrical wiring device with a cord grip whose grip fingers are longitudinally hinged for circumferential spreading about a contained cord, in addition to being hinged for radially inward movement against a cord, under the force of an apertured cover through which the cord extends.
