    Abstract: The susceptibility of microorganisms to various antibiotics is determined by propagating microorganisms in the presence of different concentrations of various antibiotics in a plurality of test chambers, using a serial dilution technique. Microgram quantities of each antibiotic are retained in a graduated series of concentrations in each of a series of test chambers by poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) as a water-soluble bulking agent and carrier, in frozen-dried form.
